Severe sickness

I have nc.
I have such bad morning sickness that I really can't keep food down except the odd apple.

I can keep drinks down so it's not HG but I've had to stick to water as it doesn't have any flavour / smell!

I am so so so miserable, I'm sobbing.
I was so sick this evening that I couldn't breath!

I am very almost starting to regret getting pregnant it's that bad!

I need some gentle advice and help.
Any practical advice about what I can do to stop the vomiting and nausea?

Thanks!!!

How far on are you? I was practically non stop sick for my whole pg. The HG boards here are fantastic you should join anyway! Tried lots of meds- buccol tablets gave brief relief, also got through bags and bags of haribo (other jelly sweets are available!) and just let them dissolve in my mouth.

Sorry buccol tablets came from gp-

See your GP and ask for anti sickness tablets.

Cyclizine worked for me. Went from barely eating and drinking. Throwing up 15-20 times a day. To nothing.

For me the (supposed very small) risk associated with taking them was worth it. I was not doing my body or my baby any good being so unwell and under nourished.

No amount of ginger, fizzy water, plain biscuits, dry toast blah de blah de blah did anything to help me.

Totally agree with above - please go and see your GP for meds, that isn't just normal morning sickness. If you get worse over the BH weekend then you may need injectable medication and possibly fluids via A&E (lots of EPAUs won't see you directly this early in pregnancy).
The HG board on here is really helpful and there are lots of people with varying degrees of sickness. Also advice on foods and drinks people have found helpful. And testing your urine for ketones which can start to develop when you aren't keeping enough food down.
The charity Pregnancy Sickness Support also has a really good website and lots of information on medications that can help.
Please get some help and hopefully things will become more manageable - it's truly debilitating!

Please see your GP as others have said . Mine continued through to the birth for both my pregnancies and it was horrendous . Reading the other posts it looks as though things have moved on since my day and there are medications that could help you .

Yeah it was all the way through with my first pregnancy although there was slight respite in the second trimester of every other day being sick.

I am only 8 weeks, it feels like a really long long time until the baby arrives!
I will definitely go to see my GP.

Thank-you all for your replies!

HG doesn’t mean you can’t keep anything at all down (obviously some folk can’t, but you can have HG and still manage to eat/drink to a degree).

Glad you’re going to see the GP. Anti-sickness tablets can work wonders Flowers

Definitely get to GP, people kept bringing me ginger @flufffysocks, the smell of it these days brings back the nausea!

Anyone got links to the Hg support groups? Going through the same, have meds but still just feeling so so low!
