So I'm hoping I'm just in a panic over nothing but thought if ask for some advice. Baby has been kicking pretty regularly on an evening since about 20 weeks but nothing last night, not sure if still a bit early for regular kicks due to size and just wondered if it was silly to ring the midwife about it?

Please ring antenatal ward - they won't think you are silly Thanks

I think the advice is generally that it’s best to get checked out by the midwife if you notice a change in baby’s movements.

They will probably tell you to drink something sweet and cold as that can get them moving again and sit down for a bit quietly so that you definitely notice any movement. If you can’t get through to your midwife straight away perhaps you could try that in the meantime so you can report the results when you ring.

That's great thanks

Mine went through stages of not being as active BUT it is ALWAYS best to ask for advice if you are worried about movement and no one will think you are silly :)

My wifes like 29 weeks today and we still dont get constant movements its scary we have to keep going in to check heartbeat etc, we get the odd days where we feel kicks etc but then somedays we have nothing and look how far along we are.. so dont worry it should get better as the weeks go on.

Thanks for the help, rang up triage and they told me to come in and get checked but all okay!

I'm 24+1 and had this conversation with my midwife this morning as I have a very active baby that kicks all day long (kicked the Doppler off of my belly this morning lol) I had a panic this weekend as she was quieter than usual for a couple days but they said they don't worry until about 28 weeks unless you're feeling next to no movements in which case they will want to check you over.
Very hard not to worry though!

also we have placenta at the front so its harder to feel movements.. drink fizzy cold drinks and have chocolate, you will see it go mad! Another trick is shine your iPhone torch on your stomach it will surely move it scared my wife lol

I didn't know where my placenta was but they said today it was at the front as well. Am def going to try that iPhone thing!! They were really good and said usually they just send a community nurse to the house to check me out but as I count as out if are a they couldn't but they are always more than happy for me to come in if I'm worried

Ring them. I went in twice, both times she started kicking as I was laying on the bed getting the monitor put on!
