Eggs?

Hello,
I am going to Spain when I am 17 weeks pregnant for an all inclusive holiday. I know advice is now that we can eat runny eggs, however in Spain they won't use our British eggs, so should I avoid them? Should I also avoid fresh deserts such as mousse that may have raw egg in them?
Thank you :)

I think it's just something you have to make a judgement on. On one side you could be over cautious and avoid and on the other you could think that Spanish pregnant women probably eat their eggs so why can't you?

One thing I would avoid is carbonara as they normally make it by mixing in a raw egg so be careful!

I am normally pretty relaxed about these things but imported Spanish eggs have caused a couple of salmonella outbreaks in the UK so I would approach with caution and stick to fully-cooked eggs with a firm yolk.

Spanish women are advised not to eat raw or soft-cooked eggs. They are all obsessed with the risk of toxoplasmosis and are advised to avoid cured meats.
