Bleeding gums?

Has anyone else had bleeding gums whilst pregnant?

I’m 29 weeks now and for the last couple of months my gums have been bleeding every time I’ve brushed my teeth, and a crack in one of my front teeth has become super sensitive.

I’ve never had this before, I’ve actually always been really lucky with my teeth... I’m 30 and still no fillings or any kind of dental work.

I wondered if anyone else has had the same thing and if there is anything I can do about it? I’m booked in to see my dentist in a couple of weeks as he’s a few hours away in my home town so I’ve been waiting for a trip up to see my parents, and in the mean time I’ve just been using corsodyl mouthwash and gotten a very soft toothbrush...

Definitely see your dentist. Dental problems are common in pregnancy which is why we get free dental care in pregnancy and a period afterwards. I have very good teeth but one just crumbled just after DC3 was born.

Check out NHS guidance here www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/teeth-and-gums-pregnant/

I've suffered with this with all 3 of my pregnancies....not much can be done but I made sure to see the hygeneist for a clean but the gums settled after I had each 1

See dentist - very common issues in pregnancy and they can g8ve relief or treatment as needed.

Go to the dentist. Treatment is free with your maternity exemption certificate throughout pregnancy and until your baby is 1.
