Burnt spices smoke inhalation

I know this sounds neurotic but I’m a bit worried. I’m in my third trimester

DP was making some chicken in a pan and added cumin, coriander and garam masala. This burnt and the house stinks and is quite smoky. We opened the windows but I’ve got a headache from the smoke/fumes etc

Would this be at all harmful to the baby do you think? He put a LOT of each spice in and the smell of burnt spices is so strong.

Absolutely not!

Are you usually this anxious? This - any - level of worry over burnt spices is excessive.

Curious347 · 23/03/2018 21:16

Yeah it was more the smoke and stuff. Not usually anxious no but will mention to midwife

Baby will be absolutely fine.

He/she may be partial to a Jalfrezi when they are born but there's certainly nothing to worry about.

Baby will suffer no ill effects.
If this is a neurotic moment, fair enough. But if your anxiety levels are getting unmanageable, do tell your midwife.

This is not a problem, I’ve had 2 children and burnt spices a number of times during pregnancy, seriously it’s not a thing.

BrutusMcDogface · 23/03/2018 21:25

Go and get some fresh air to clear your lungs, and don't worry one bit! 😊

NotUmbongoUnchained · 23/03/2018 21:25

Seriously?

Curious347 · 23/03/2018 21:31

Ok, thank you for the advice!

Yes. Sorry for thinking that inhaling smoke may be slightly harmful but I appreciate the reassurance.

You're sorted then! :o

Pregnancy can make you panic about the most random things. I can remember grazing my bump with a hot oven tray and thinking 'Oh my God, did I burn the baby?'

Obviously, I realised this was impossible the moment after I thought it but still, these things can pop into your head.

Curious347 · 23/03/2018 22:22

Exactly! Sometimes you just need to put it out of your mind and get some perspective!
