Cycling when pregnant - how long can I expect to keep it up?

I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant and as part of my commute to work I cycle 30-35 minutes to get to the station and hop on a train. Driving isn't an option, and using public transport would add another 30 minutes to my journey in each direction.

I know that it all depends how things go in the next few months, but I wondered if anyone had any experiences of cycling when pregnant. I'd love to hear how long you managed to keep doing it.

With my first child I was super fit and healthy right to the end and did a walking holiday at 6 1/2 months, so I'm imagining if I'm lucky that I'll be able to keep up my cycling till Christmas when I'll be 6 1/2 months. Am I being naive!!?

Leogaela - I'm sure the cycling has helped. But I know how much is down to luck too - the fittest woman I know had her baby prematurely at 29 weeks - so it's a bit of a lottery. Thanks for saying I've been cheery though! I was a permanent whinger whilst vomiting my way through the first 3 months.

DecafArabia - the great thing with cycling is that it gives you an excuse to scoff those minstrels. In my first pregnancy I was so virtuous - snacking on fruit and wholesome foodstuffs. This time I have been the chocolate queen of the world - maltesers, dairy milk, green and blacks white, plain and milk varieties, chocolate caramel squares, ben and jerry's phish food ice cream!! And amazingly I'm not the size of a house (well I'm a bungalow with a very large extension!).
