I cannot cope with all the headaches and migraines.

I've been to the doctor and she said to take codiene but I don't want to do that all the time, I do when I'm desperate.
I've had this headache/migraine since Monday!
I've had quite a few migraines that take me to my bed for a couple days, it's just awful.

Has anyone had a dairth piercing?
It won't suit me but I don't know what else to do.

I'm 14+5 days pregnant

Have you tried drinking a can of full fat coke?
I was suffering bad headaches that would last 3 or so days, had my first ever migraine and it was horrendous. I read a post on here that said coke may help and so I went a bought a crate, I have 1 or 2 cans a day and haven't had a headache since!
May be worth a try?

Thank you I'll try that.

I'm so thirsty all the time, I'm drinking about 6 pints of sugar free squash a day x

You can't get pierced when pregnant so you wouldnt even be able to get it done until after delivery.

As for daith i had it done as a last resort and in all honesty it had absolutely zero effect on migraines! There's no way a piercing in your ear will effect the pain receptor that misfires causing migraine pain. I've suffered migraines since 11 (now 30) this piercing doesn't help migraines, it might be a placebo effect at the most.

I'd suggest going to specsavers and getting the pressure in you eyes checked. As pregnancy intercranial hypertension can manifest as headaches and migraines.

Ah thanks.
My husband actually owns a spec savers franchise so I'll ask him about that, at least I won't have to pay 😂

@RosieCotton

Thanks, I've just sent it on my hub to ask an optom, though he's quite private and not telling his staff we're expecting.

Did you suffer from that? What's the treatment?

Xx

Have you had a glucose tolerance test? That's a huge amount to be drinking!
I had really bad headaches when pregnant - it's the hormones I'm afraid.

workwankery · 23/03/2018 09:05

The squash (well the sweetener) could be making your migraine worse! Try cutting the squash out.

Redken24 · 23/03/2018 09:07

Yup drink more water. Dark rooms. Sleep more etc. I used migraleve and vicks on my head. Paracetamol didn't do anything.

I have a different form of inter cranial hypertension. Mine isn't triggered by pregnancy, I suffer with it all my life. It just gets worse when expecting.

When my CF pressure is to high my eye sight starts to be affected, I can hardly move my head. For me the only course of action at that point is a lumbar puncture. There is medications that can help I think but I'm not sure how different they would be to the meds I normally take.

I only mentioned the pressure thing because one of the medications you can't take for it is in fact codine as it can actually increase CF fluid and pressure, it could very likely just be hormones and it may way settle down, but I'd hate to not mention it and you suffer like I did for years.

Full fat coke does help migraines. There was a study done on it not long ago. I can't the ins and outs of it but basically the people who drank coke recovered from migraines quicker. Also I use cool and soothe migraine strips, 4head roll on, I put my heads and feet in hot water and an ice pack on the back of my neck and I use freeze damp facecloths so my husband can get me cold ones when one stops working. As you can probably tell I've spent a ridiculously large amount of my life researching on how to combat head pain. Lol.

I suffered from migraines and constant headaches.

I read somewhere that seeds pumpkin, sesame etc can help. I now have a sprinkling of mixed seeds on my cereal every day and hand on heart no more headaches or migraines.

BlueUggs · 23/03/2018 09:36

The forehead stick might help too? Or as someone eLee suggested, vicks.

I’d try acupuncture or acupressure?
