Itchy & bitchy- 2nd Trimester woes

Tell me your 2nd trimester woes/ tales/ experiences!

I'm 21 weeks atm, with an anterior placenta so haven't felt that much movement.

For the past week or so I've had really itchy arms! Not always in the same spot- otherwise I'd think it was a rash or something but the itchiness seems to move around? Confused

I've started to notice myself being a bit very hormonal and over-emotional at silly little things! The bitchy attitude has made a return and boy it has plenty to say!

On top of that, I swear my bump grows overnight and most days it feels like I've swallowed a bowling ball and looks like it too.

My bladder has shrunk to half of its original capacity!

On the plus side I'm finally starting to notice a pattern and feel movements from the bump! Only the past few days but it's exciting and I want to feel more! Wriggle little one Grin

@Paie im okay enjoying having a little time off and not doing very much!! Im glad your itching has eased off that must be some relief!! Sounds like a good plan i only do three days but one day is long 9-8 and on my feet all day so im hoping the last few weeks/month i could cut down to 2 days im due the 26th July 😊 whats your due date?
@CremeDeSudo aww poor you im sure you are knackered!!!

Paie · 03/04/2018 10:41

@CremeDeSudo
Hope it all goes smoothly!!!
I can sympathise with you regarding poorly DC- my 3yo DD has had off and on illness this past month, hopefully will be getting to the root of the problem soon!
@LMX0
Such a relief the itchiness has quietened down! I do 5 days 8:45-5pm, but it is all office work so sat down all day. 5 day weeks leave me shattered though- hoping the boss will agree to shorter weeks! With my DD I was working behind a bar but somehow managed to work up until the due date itself! Gives punters such a shock when they ask when you're due and you have to check your watch to give them the countdown in hourly format Wink
I'm due July 28th so very close to you!

Any remedies that we can take for colds? I have an awful cold atm, all bunged up and wishing I wasn't at work!

@Paie how did you manage?!? according to my first dates I was 29th but then they changed you poor thing i remember having a rotten cold around 9 weeks and i felt truly terrible paracetamol & hot honey and lemon (i add sugar to make it easier to drink as i find it bitter) i also was able to get cough medicine from the chemist but youll need to speak to a pharmacist and they may give you something if your cough is really bad!!!

Has anyone else found weeks were you are REALLY knackered i cannot get enough sleep this week i found around week 18 was the same (23 weeks now)

I think if DS had been any younger I'd be really struggling with this pregnancy - relieved he's so self sufficient! Don't know how others do it!

And yes totally get the over tired and can't sleep thing. I can get to sleep ok but once I'm woken in the night I can't get back off. Too many thoughts! I've had to buy DH some anti-snoring spray today before I kick him out of our bed for the rest of the pregnancy!

LMX0 · 03/04/2018 22:49

@CremeDeSudo how old is ds? Ive no problem sleeping at night (i know im lucky for now) i think dh would have been shifted to the sofa by now!! Well done you sticking it out and i hope the spray works tonight!!

CremeDeSudo · 04/04/2018 11:45

He's 4 and 3/4s (that 3/4s is very important to him!! Grin

Snoring spray worked reasonably well! Should caveat that he hadn't had a drink last night though and it gets worse when he does...annoyingly though I couldn't sleep anyway due to steroids! Have just had my second lot so expecting the same tonight Sad hopefully I can make up for it tmw night!

I realised this morning that this is my last week of second trimester! I shall have to start a moany 3rd trimester thread and you can all join me Wink

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo
The end of this trimester isn't far away for us all then Grin
The third trimester is probably the most terrifying- the countdown then begins!
My DP has night sweats a lot.... I have a spare duvet I keep by the bed for when I wake up for a mid night pee or four and have to crawl back into bed next to his insane heat. Easier to just push him over to one side with the sweaty duvet and curl up on my own with a nice fresh cool one! If he snored I think I'd go mad though!
@CremeDeSudo
My DC is 3 (nearly 4) and I think if she was any younger I wouldn't have been able to do this! She's quite independent and loves to help out where she can Grin

The cold seems to be easing up now, thank god. Morning sickness is still present though- but for the first time it is actual MORNING sickness. Not 24/7 sickness :P

@CremeDeSudo of course the 3/4 is the most important part lol kids are so funny thats blooming typical isnt!! My dh snores more when he has a drink too think its very common i hope you have a great night sleep tomorrow night!! Im sure it wont come quick enough!! Awww no way!! Time is flying by im sure you could stay with us lot dont think anyone would chase you!! You could even give us a head up of what wonders are to come 😂
@Paie that is a good plan oh the heat can sometimes be a killer!!! (So can the pee trips!)

LMX0 · 04/04/2018 22:58

Ive just tried on the maternity clothes i got today and they make me look HUGE!! So comfy though!!!

CremeDeSudo · 05/04/2018 09:17

I think I'll hang around a bit, I like it here Smile

I'm glad I don't have night sweats to deal with, I'd be compulsively washing duvets!

Last night I think I must've been SO tired from previous 2 nights of crap sleep that I slept really well thank god. Hot flushes this morning but they're OK. Poor DH has caught DS's tummy bug though as was back and forth to the loo all night! Pregnant lady is fine however, just man and child down!

I hate maternity clothes. I want to be able to wear more fitted t shirts and leggings like the skinny women do but with the weight I look on I feel too fat! I don't want to get my arms out as all the weight is there and on my thighs! I do however love maternity joggers. I've got a pair from H&M and a pair from Peacocks. They're SO comfy!

My plan post baby is get on an extreme VLCD and lose baby weight and hopefully an extra stone ready for Christmas party season. Wink

CremeDeSudo · 09/04/2018 18:53

Can I just say, I SO cannot wait to be be able to wall around and feel more physically able generally. And I genuinely can't wait to go on a diet! I hate being this fat!

Ugh.

Moanie day today lol

LMX0 · 09/04/2018 20:11

@CremeDeSudo your allowed a moanie day!! Goodness knows im sure we all have had our fair share!! It will be nice to be normal again though however im enjoying not worrying about food atm
