Consultant appt - potential short cervix

I have an appointment with a consultant tomorrow to measure my cervix. I had no issues in my first pg but last year I had 2 x lletz and 1 x cone biopsy for CIN3. I'm now 12 weeks pg and concerned about how much of my cervix is actually left and if I need a stitch. Does anyone have any experience or advice on this? I'm not sure what to expect tomorrow. But I do know I would rather have a stitch if they are not 100% sure my cervix will hold up.

I was monitored for cervical length as I ticked a few risk factor boxes for incompetent cervix, this is monitored via cervical length, thankfully all was fine.

I had regular internal TV scans (once a fortnight) from 14 - 24 weeks, they measure the length and look for any funneling (widening of the opening from the top/inside). The scans were reassuring and it meant a couple of extra glimpses of baby too which is always nice :)

The won't give a stitch on a just in case basis, only if they see cervical erosion as it comes with a new set of risk factors.

I have a stitch in due to an incompetent cervix. If your cervix length is good tomorrow they may just monitor you ever couple of weeks and see if there are any changes. Hope it is all good for you tomorrow!

Thank you both! Fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow and they just have to monitor it. I've just read too many horror stories of women losing their babies before 20 weeks due to IC. I need to stop googling
