Baby Fiesta

Looking for some advice...

31 weeks preggers and planning a party babies arrival.

Option 1 - Toby Carvery - cheap, cheerful, not everyone has to eat and I know the food is decent however it's rammed, hectic and the bill could get confusing to split.

Option 2 - Semi posh pub - not as cheap, easy for bill splitting (order at the bar), perhaps more casual for the just drinking lot.

What should I do? I can't decide! Anyone do anything similar?

No idea. You're braver than me though, I can't even imagine a big, public social gathering shortly after giving birth!

Yes I'm thinking about timing it 5 weeks after EDD so 3 -7 weeks after baby arrives, do you think that will be enough time? I'm also not sure I'm going to want too many visitors after baby arrives so I feel getting a date in the diary will put the pressure of eager visitors!

Congratulations on your upcoming arrival. Do many of your party guests have children themselves? I was just thinking would Toby Carvery be better for them in that case?

Yes, I have one with a 1yo and 4yo, I also like the idea of it being a family atmosphere hmm I think it might be swaying Toby carvery way!

Sounds lovely. I genuinely thought you were suggesting Fiesta as a baby name though....

InRainbows · 21/03/2018 22:45

Hahaha Fiesta would be a strong name!! I think I'm settled on the Carvery, especially with the young guests and a potentially crying baby!

I'd say 5 weeks after is enough time. Even if you have a section at 42 weeks you'd likely be ok for that. Obviously if things go wrong and you change your mind you can just cancel it and there will bw enough notice.

I think carvery also sounds good in terms of timing. You may not want to be out for hours and people are more likely to linger in a pub!

Good luck!

I'd go for whichever one has the most free floor space so that you can get the pram or carseat near you. Sometimes it's nice to be able to put down your baby when eating.

Great idea, I'd go with carvery. More relaxed.
