Buggy help - narrow path and front door

We are starting to look at buggies/travel systems for our first baby (due early May).
Have not seen a lot yet but so far we like the Uppababy Vista 2017 (for the offroad capabilities, huge basket, UV shade and the fact you can use the cot attachment as a travel cot).

However the wheelbase seems quite wide and we live in a terraced house with narrow path and a narrow front door. I have measured and the wheels will fit the path and door, but only just (less than 1 inch clearance either side). The front path also has 2 low steps and 2 right angled turns from road level. The interior hallway and space to store the buggy inside the house are ok, it is just the path and front door that are potential problems.

I know 'City buggies' are likely to be narrower than offroaders but we are quite outdoorsy and want to be able to take the buggy on the local common etc so its important that it can handle a bit of rough terrain.

I don't want to spend loads of money on a buggy and find we can't get it into the house! So will be very grateful for any advice.
Has anyone bought a buggy to fit a similar situation?
If it only just fits, are we likely to curse it every day or will we get used to handling it through narrow spaces?
How manouverable are 4 wheel buggies? Would we be better looking at 3 wheelers?
Any other recommendations or anything else we should think of?

That sounds like it would get very annoying very quickly. Have you looked at at Mountain Buggy? They do a super slim one which may suit your needs.

City joggers to come with different wheels so you can get a slim one with bigger / better wheels for terrain.

Meant that you can buy different versions- not that they come with a selection of wheels.

Second recommendation for Mountain Buggy. We have the urban jungle, which I think is narrower than the vista. They also do the Swift which is more like a city buggy size but with off road tyres and all the benefits of the urban jungle and all terrain models. Our DD slept in the carrycot overnight as we swapped the mattress to a Moses basket one.

Ours is brilliant on the snow, sand in the woods etc. We live rurally and are quite outdoorsy as well.

Thanks loads for your speedy replies, that's really helpful! I had read that Mountain Buggy have a good reputation, will definitely look into them next.
