Has anyone found any short sleeve button down nighties or strappy ones with easy boob access? I can’t find any that aren’t hideous or long sleeved and last time the postnatal Ward was hotter than hell and that was January and I’m due June this time round!

Primark have the best one not maternity just go for a large size - very reasonable too

Icklepickle101 · 18/03/2018 20:56

Yeah not bothered about maternity or nursing ones. A size 20 will do me Grin

I don't do nighties and last time I gave birth I definitely wanted PJs. This time round I've got some Next nursing PJs that I'm already wearing which are really comfortable and I've seen there is a nightie version of them as well

I just bought cheap tshirt type nighties and cut the necks larger... then when home I slept in Just nursing bra. Just a thought...

Doublechocolatetiffin · 18/03/2018 20:59

I got mine from primark last time too. Big size and buttons down the front. Not the most glamourous in the world, but did the job.

Icklepickle101 · 18/03/2018 20:59

Has to be a nightie as I’m having a c section so will have catheter for a good few hours

I bought mine from mamas and papas but they don’t seem to have any in. Their sale is ending though so they might get new stock. Mothercare have these in, if that’s the style you mean?

Icklepickle101 · 18/03/2018 20:59

Will head to primark I think!

Another one who got one a couple (maybe four 😄) sizes up from primark. Had several buttons down the front, can't sleep naked so needed something over my shoulders but happy to sleep with boobs out all night.... alternatively DH's old tshirts with some nice pyjamas.would make a cut down the neck to make boobs accessible.
And a nice pair of nursing pyjamas to wear during the day, to feel human!

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 18/03/2018 21:04

I got some from matalan last time - will be looking in there again in a few weeks.

Chocolatewafer · 18/03/2018 21:04

Got a couple of black ones quite cheap from H&M... not button down but strapped easy access

They have some nice soft nursing bras too

Almostthere15 · 18/03/2018 21:07

I have this

Which is great at the moment for maternity and the clips are really good so will be useful for feeding.

I also bought the Primark night shirt, button down in bigger sizes with my first and they were great too. Just make sure you get a cotton one because the maternity ward is always boiling and sweaty

Here's one showing on line...

I got this one and I've been really really pleased with it. I've been wearing it for a year now, have washed it loads and it has retained its shape, and it accommodates my GG cup boobs.. The quality is surprisingly good for the price.

ProseccoPoppy · 18/03/2018 21:12

I have some from mothercare. They are genuinely ugly - like the ones Storm linked to but in a nasty purple pattern (and were second or third hand when I got them and I am now going to use them for a second baby) but they do the job. I much prefer PJs but the nighties were a godsend after an EMCS last time (as well as accommodating the catheter the lack of sleeves accommodated canulas for the three separate drips I seemed to have somehow ended up hooked to).

Celticlassie · 18/03/2018 21:14

I got alright ones from Primark - one that unbuttoned right down to the waist which was good for skin to skin.

Once catheter out I had pyjamas for the rest of the time I was in.

Kittypillar · 18/03/2018 21:17

Bought a pack of two strappy ones in the sale at Mothercare for £12, otherwise I would have probably just bought some larger ones from Primark.

Can't see to find them online for you, so they might have sold out. Sorry :(

MsJuniper · 18/03/2018 21:24

I just bought a set of 2 for £12 from Mothercare, probably the same as @Kittypillar's.

MsJuniper · 18/03/2018 21:26

They have these which are similar, or various others.

Kittypillar · 18/03/2018 21:29

Yep @MsJuniper - very similar to those! :) Suspect we did buy the same ones.

I've bought one of these, only 35 weeks though so not used it yet

lovelsa · 19/03/2018 12:57

I bought a couple of these with my first pregnancy. www.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?cid=1077051&pcid=1055251&vid=1&pid=000112764000

Stretchy neck so could still nurse in them, just went a size up. And black came in handy, didn't show as much dirt etc!

They also have this one that has buttons in the front if that's a must x

I've got the same Gap one as almostthere - it's lovely! Really soft and comfy. I'm just sad that I've had to stop wearing it so it could be packed in my hospital bag!
