Feeling really worried, am 11+3 weeks and don't feel pregnant. Suffered a missed miscarriage last year and so am petrified of it happening again! Only persistent symptoms I've had are fatigue, bloating, gas, and on/off sore boobs. I get ransom waves of nausea every now and then but some days I just have nothing and almost forget I'm pregnant because I don't feel it at all. Got our 12 weeks scan Thursday and am so scared we will get there no heartbeat 😫 is anyone else having on/off symptoms or doesn't feel pregnant? 1st baby so not sure what is ok and what isn't....

With my first baby, 20 years ago-!!!-I was so scared that Id get to my first scan & thered be no baby in there!!
I didn`t feel pregnant either, even after a posative pregnancy test & no periods!!

I was the same as shabbynat. Although no previous miscarriage. I was shocked that the baby appeared right away at the first scan. The only reason I feel pregnant now is because I'm shattered all the time and the bump is starting to get in the way!

I had a missed miscarriage after loads of symptoms, then a healthy pregnancy with loads of symptoms, then a healthy pregnancy with absolutely no symptoms whatsoever other than missed periods. Literally, to the point where I caught my reflection in a shop mirror and was horrified by the size of my stomach until I remembered I was about 19 weeks along. Not one wave of nausea. So, in my limited experience, symptoms or lack thereof mean jack shit. Good luck OP, fingers crossed for you.

I'm 8+2 with my first and I don't really feel pregnant either, aside from occasional bouts of nausea and sore boobs. Sometimes I even forget I'm pregnant! Grin

@DG87 I’m nearly 15 weeks and have had pretty much zero symptoms from the start. I no how worrying it is. Everyone says you should feel lucky not being sick etc but it does cause a lot of worry! Even after my scan I can’t quite believe it. Chances are you’ll be fine.

Am 14 weeks and didn't feel pregnant as i had no symptoms part from missed periods and sore boobs.
When i went for my scan i was thinking omg what if there is nothing in there and my body is just starting to mess up. My boyfriend had to keep telling me that there'll be a baby in there and that they'll be okay. As soon as i saw them i started crying and enjoying watching him or her move around. Once you see the baby it'll start to feel real

I felt exactly like you throughout my first trimester - its my fourth pregnancy after three miscarriages, and so I was constantly worried that my symptoms weren't strong enough. But actually, in hindsight, I was tired and often (but not always) nauseous - I did have symptoms, I just discounted them! Similarly, this:

Only persistent symptoms I've had are fatigue, bloating, gas, and on/off sore boobs. I get ransom waves of nausea every now and then but some days I just have nothing and almost forget I'm pregnant because I don't feel it at all.

Is symptoms! Lots of women feeling like this would consider themselves to having lots of (annoying) signs of pregnancy. I think when you have the anxiety of previous loss you're always looking for reassurance but nothing is ever good enough to reassure you - so I decided that my nausea didn't count because I wasn't ever sick, for instance. In any case, symptoms don't mean much, as pp have said - but also, I think you're expecting to feel constantly 'pregnant' (as did I) and that doesn't really happen for the vast majority of people. You hear a lot about the unfortunate few (eg those with hyperemesis) for who the symptoms are constant and debilitating, but they're actually a very small minority of pregnant women - most find their symptoms come and go.

If I hadn't done 6 pregnancy tests (OTT I know!) and had 2 missed periods I'd never know I was pregnant either! I do feel very tired at times, get sore boobs and feel bloated but then I have had all of those symptoms in the past without being pregnant!
I am praying that I am one of the lucky ones that doesn't get morning sickness as I hate feeling ill. Touch wood, so far so good.

My daughter was the same, had no symptoms at all and was convinced that nothing would show on her scan. Her first words were "oh, so there really is a baby in there, then" 😂 she's only since then allowed herself to start getting excited and she has now started buying little bits & bobs at 15 weeks x

Katievb · 16/03/2018 20:38

Yes!! I’m 11 weeks and don’t feel any different! I have my scan next Friday.. wish I could get excited but I just feel worried and anxious :( xxxx

I had a miscarriage myself a couple years ago and when I got pregnant this time I had no symptoms at all if it hadn't been for a missed couple periods I would never of done a test. I was so scared at my first scan I refused to at the screen my auntie had to go look its ok look u can see a baby. I cried my eyes out. Still didn't get any symptoms though till her first kick every scan I was scared but now I am 40 weeks and she is defo letting me know she is in there. Its scary and my heart goes out to u but try not to worry u might just be like and just not get symptoms for a while.

Hi DG87,
I think it is too early to suggest that the baby is not developing. Normally, it takes between 18-26 weeks for a first-time mother to feel the baby kick. So at 11 weeks, I think you need to be patient because the baby is just about to start elbowing you. Notice that there are cases when women have felt that the baby is moving only to realize that it was just wind passing through the system. It happens in cases where one is a first-time mother. However, as the pregnancy progresses, the baby gets stronger and his movement starts being felt. Also, it is important to remember that not feeling the baby make movements could be influenced by the positioning of the placenta. If the placenta is developing in front of the uterus wall, it may not be easy for you to feel the baby move. Also, the fact that some women will only feel the movement after the 26th week should make you relax. Also, the position in which the baby is lying could influence whether you feel it kick or not. If it is facing the back, it may be difficult to feel the kicks. However, this should not worry you since the baby will be able to shift the position and make it easier for you to feel the kicks. Also, ladies who are overweight may not easily feel the kick. Some plus size women may not also feel the baby move inside them. There is more padding that makes it difficult for you to feel the movements.

@DG87 those are the exact symptoms I had, I kept having to remind myself that I was pregnant. I'm now 27 weeks and everything has been ok so far so I have my fingers crossed for you too x

DG87 · 18/03/2018 19:13

Thank you, that's all reassuring to read.
I knew i would worry throughout this pregnancy because of what happened last time but the closer we get to our 12 week scan the more worried I'm getting. In the last pregnancy, it was at our 12 week scan we found out the baby had died at about 8 weeks and it was just the worst feeling, I couldn't believe that for 4 weeks I had been carrying on thinking I was pregnant.
Although I have felt a huge difference between the last pregnancy and this one, (I only had sore boobs for about a month and I didn't grow at all) I can't help but worry the same will happen again at our 12 week scan. But positive vibes, and praying to god our little bean will be jumping about when we go on Thursday! ✌🏻👶🏻

I’ve had three DC and two missed miscarriages (and am pregnant again). With two of my DC I had literally no symptoms at all... I remember having what I’d describe as shooting pains in my breasts at 4 weeks and some dragging period type pains but that was it.

With my first miscarriage I also had no real symptoms which didn’t concern me too much given my previous experience. However I spotted at 11 weeks, had a scan and discovered heart had stopped at 7 weeks. Then with next miscarriage I had nausea even at the 12 week scan and no spotting at all throughout so figured everything would be ok, heart stopped at 9 weeks.

I’m 7 weeks pregnant atm and have the full blown all day nausea again but I know from last time it’s no indication all is ok, sadly. That was long winded but what I was trying to get at is that I miscarried with symptoms, had two DC without.
