Morning sickness and late for work...

Anyone else had this issue? Had to tell my boss this morning that I'm going to be late. Been glued to the toilet bowl and sickness only just subsiding. Really worried that my bosses are going to be fed up with me coming in late, but I don't know what else I can do. I can't leave he house when I'm physically throwing up! Not sure whether they can give me a telling off for this but feeling extremely anxious. We work on a flexi time basis and I'm really struggling to stay in positive hours... Sad

As soon as you get into work talk to your boss. Let them know that you've been late because of morning sickness and you're aware that it is effecting work but don't know what to do about it. Maybe you can start later/ work from home... anything. But stressing silently is only going to make you feel worse.

They can maybe tell you off but i don't know that they can do much more than that. By approaching them first at least you're showing them you recognise the problem and are keen to try to resolve it.

Hopefully your morning sickness doesnt last too long and you'll be feeling better soon ☺

I had to go in late a few times so I just had to tell them the truth. Mine were very understanding.

If you work on flexi time then surely you can make the time up at lunch / stay later? That's what I've been doing with my work. Just communicate with your employer and they should understand.

Tell your bosses that you are pregnant and this is why you are late. They have a duty to be discreet and also do a pregnancy risk sssessment of your work/workload. If the sicknes rand up to yogi having to take time off,, you (and they) need to be aware that pregnancy related ice eave must be reciorded separately and cannot be used against you in disciplinary action etc.
Congrtulations, snd commiserations
You may also find it useful to Google “Pregnancy Sickness support”.

If you've not told your boss that you're pregnant then tell them now. They should be understanding and even if they aren't then they'll know that legally they can't make a fuss about it.
