Fed up with mine she's useless never responds to my messages, she only ever responds after I've had to text her two or three times to prompt her - its frustrating as not really what I should have to do.
Previous midwife i had a few years back was so quick to respond to my messages & always came across like she was there for me just getting annoyed with this one!

Does your midwife work full time? Perhaps she only works 2-3 days per week and gets back to you on her next shift?

Sorry, I know this sounds really silly but I do have to ask as I'm a FTM with no clue:

Do you have a specific midwife? I just see whoever is working at the time for my appointments? I am under Standard Care, does this make a difference? I'm just intrigued that's all :)

You need to remember that the number your MW gave you is her work number- so she will only be able to reply while she is on duty. If she is part time it might only be 15-20 hours a week depending on her hours.

Also i haven't ever texted my midwife. I think stick to phoning her.

Bonge yes I have a specific midwife it might be different in other areas of the country though.

My midwife has given me her (work) mobile number and told me she welcomes texts. She’s normally pretty quick to respond as well. I’ve called her once and left a voicemail and she’s called me back. I don’t text her willy nilly though, just things she’s asked me to keep her updated on. It’s much easier than trying to get a message to her through the receptionists at my surgery.

My midwife texts me all the time and has a voicemail stating don't leave a message send a text instead!
Done all jump down the OP throat, is be miffed if I didn't get a reply.
Obviously if it was urgent I would call the numbers she highlighted at the front of my notes.

Pretty worrying she needs prompting to respond to you, my midwife was the same so in the end I asked for someone else. Good luck x

Don't expect health visitors to be any better. The team I was given were shit. One even lied about calling me on my notes. I waited in all day for her, phone at the ready (even took it to the loo Blush), no call. My notes said she did.
What a shit system.
