Really bad indigestion

Can anyone help?
I have constant really bad indigestion that's worse after I eat or drink anything.
I have been munching on indigestion tablets like they are Smarties but hardly getting any relief.
It's a really bad ache pain between my boobs and across my rib cage.
It's to the point where I am crying in pain and can't wear a bra.

Does anyone know of anything I can try??

Apparently liquid gaviscon is supposed to be good! I'm like you, munching indigestion tablets! Ive found eating little and often is good, also I have to eat my dinner 3-4 hours before I go to bed or else it's agony laying down to sleep :-(

I have HORRENDOUS indigestion when pg. Midwife prescribed huge bottles of Gaviscon. It's like magic Grin

Liquid Aniseed Gaviscon

If the pain is that bad you need to get it checked out. Have you spoken to your midwife or GP about it? You don't say how far along you are but I would want HELLP syndrome to be ruled out. Please seek medical advice.

If the Gaviscon liquid doesn't work the GP/ Obstetrician can prescribe or recommend ranitidine which are a good bit stronger. I asked the obstetrician at one of my appointments and she told me to buy ranitidine over the counter (but they did ask if my GP had said for me to take it). I really suffered in previous pregnancies and used gaviscon but was given ranitidine to take the night before my ELCS. It worked brilliantly so I've used it when I've really had to this time round. Perhaps have a chat with them and check whether that would be suitable for you. It's horrendous, you have my sympathy!

Queen City makes a good point, if the pain is that bad you really should be checked to rule out anything else too. I would make an appointment to see the Doctor as you don't need to suffer like this. Good luck

I'm 21 weeks
Made an appt with my gp for Saturday. My next midwife appt is not for another 4 weeks and don't really want to wait that long if I can help it.
Will get some liquid gaviscon today and see if that helps.

I don't even really know if it IS indigestion just assuming it is.

It's a really sharp ache between my boobs and round to my side on my rib cage.
Sometimes it feels like it'ds fluttering in the bit between my boobs like a twitch.

I have suffered horrendous heartburn and acid reflux since about week 25. GP prescribed me ranatidine which helped massively! I’m now 34 weeks and even that’s not saving me anymore due to a certain someone being breech and wedging himself up under my ribs!

I have found bouncing on my ball has helped and yoga positions like cat/cow release him gently and help ease the pain!

Worth getting checked to rule anything serious out for piece of mind.

Was given omeprazole by the doctor and told to take it for 3 days then stop for 2 days.
Can take gaviscon aswell as long as I leave a 2hr gap between the tablet and the gaviscon.
So far not much relief yet
It's exhausting.
Apparently if you take gaviscon when pregnant you should drink loads of water as it contains lots of salt. Didn't know that.

Apparently whole milk and yogurt is good for indigestion.

Milk. Was drinking 12 litres of the stuff daily.

Gaviscon didn't touch the surface
