2nd trimester breathlessness?

Hello lovely MNers I'm hoping for some anecdotal advice before I see my midwife again soon regarding breathlessness.
I'm 18 weeks, and for the last month roughly I've had a terrible virus and had all sorts come with that, so I haven't actually been doing much/ gone out much to try and rest and get better.
Now the only issue is I feel better, but I'm exhausted just moving from one room to the next, and carrying dd is bloody hard work. I'm worried because I've been resting so much that now my body has forgotten what exercise is like!

Just to add I am taking daily spatone and pregnacare so hopefully it shouldn't be my iron levels.

Any advice on how to get my body better again will be gratefully received!

You're probably low on iron.

I don't think you should be that breathless that walking from a room to another should be a prob.

I have bad asthma and I wasn't that bad. Get an appt at your GP or if easier call 111 and Id see if you can get a blood test and just check all is ok?

Thank you, perhaps it is more serious than I first thought. I think I'll contact the midwife as she knows my history throughout pregnancy and go from there

I think sometimes been unwell can really knock us for six and it's surprising how long it can take to get back on your feet after this. Having said that I think it would be a good idea to go to your GP and get them to check you over to make sure nothing else is wrong.

I'm the same OP, if I walk upstairs I need to sit on the bed to rest!

Have asked two midwives and my consultant and all have said it's normal given my age (40).
