Having a complete freak out getting a BFP yesterday, as I only have a 5mo DS.

I'm going from extreme excitement and happiness to pure fear and horror in the matter of minutes, followed by guilt for my DS and for feeling so worried about being pregnant again! Argh! I just had an hour nap with DS as I'm fed up of my emotions switching and swapping!!

I need some reassurance! Did anyone else have kids close together and it turn out ok? How many children do you have and how big are the age gaps?

3 children. 4.5 years between my eldest Dd(6) and dd2. 12 months and two weeks between dd2 and ds.

Dd2 and ds are celebrate their second and first birthday next month. We have survived, and their relationship is becoming so lovely

jitter don’t panic. People used to say to me when mine were small “how to do you cope, I would never manage” but the truth is that you cope because you have to, and you find ways to manage.

I’m sure Curly would say the same, twins are hard work but awesome. There are also distinct benefits to having them close together.

It’s hard work initially of course but you get rid of sleepless nights, nappies, buggies, high chairs etc in a much shorter time period than everyone else.

Our first two years were really very tough but by the time my two were three they no longer needed a buggy, were dry at night, could dress themselves and would sit fairly nicely in a cafe or restaurant and eat whatever was in the menu.

Meanwhile most of my friends had just had baby number two and were still breastfeeding, up in the night, lugging prams and nappy bags everywhere.

My twins are also very close.

It will all be fine in the end.

Five children 18 months between ds1 and ds 2, 4 years 3 months between ds2 and dd1, 21 months between dd1 and ds3 and 8 years between ds3 and dd2. In total 16 years 5 months from first to last.
Short age gaps are great, I did it twice over, hard work for a few months whilst you establish a routine and awful to have a baby needing you when you have really awful morning sickness but it's soon forgotten.

Don’t worry- you will be fine. My first two were 14 months apart ( now aged three and four) but love and hate in equal measure. It’s a lovely relationship to watch grow. You are in the baby phase now, go with it. I figured I was up early with one may as well have two to be up with. Toys etc are interchangeable and holidays, days out easier. House a mess anyway- we’ll at least mine is! Think positive and it will definitely help with the tired, hard days. Number three is eighteen months younger again and loves his elder brothers- we’ll see how number four gets on soon! Blush

I have three boys and am 5 weeks pregnant with fourth baby.
When this one is born my boys will be
21 years old
16 years old
9 years old
So quite a gap 😂

My dc are 14 months apart. They are now 7 & 6 and people still tell me I'm crazy having 2 so close together. I loved having them close together and they are the best of friends, I plan on doing the same with #3 and #4 hopefully.
