Transverse baby at 28 weeks

Had a growth scan today at 28+2 and baby is transverse with her head on my right side and and bottom on my left with legs and arms dangling towards cervix.
Is there anything I can do to help her turn as a higher risk of prolapsed cord was mentioned today and it's worried me!

I had the same last pregnancy. I went swimming at about 29 weeks and got out the pool with a totally different shaped bump!
He’d turned head down while I was in the water and I was so much more comfortable after that Smile

I think they don’t tend to worry about position until later anyway. Hopefully baby will shift for you soon.

I had this and DS had repositioned himself by my due date without intervention. One thing to be aware of it to get any cystitis symptoms treated quickly. I ended up with a kidney infection when DS waa laid this way because he was compressing my ureter

Blinking heck, it doesn’t matter at 28 weeks. They’ve got a tonne of room to move around yet

Twin 2 is mostly transverse but he can change from cephalic to transverse to breech multiple times a day still at 27+6 and with his brother in there. You've got loads of time.

I do find being on my feet encourages breech.

Plenty of time to turn op, don't worry.

My baby turned transverse at 39 weeks, thankfully turned again.

Oh good!! Thanks all, my consultant wasn't too reassuring and was more matter of fact as they are!

I had a transverse baby. Was told she'd turn as

DenPerry · 08/03/2018 19:24

My baby was transverse but kept going the right way, then going sideways again! At 38 weeks my waters broke and I lost all my water over 24hrs, and then ended up with the cord in my knickers ShockLuckily was in hospital already and they rushed me to theatre (with someone holding the cord in my vagina..) and baby was out in 5 mins! As soon as you get any sign of anything, get to hospital. When my waters broke I rang and told them he was transverse and they said I could stay at home, but I said I was going in.. it could have ended badly if I hadn't.

Oh gosh yeah the consultant said today that it was so important that of my waters broke while baby is transverse call labour ward and they bring you straight in as it can be dangerous. Good job you stuck to your guns.
Really hope she turns though!

My Bubba was transverse when I went to my 4d scan at 29 weeks, a few weeks later and he's repositioned himself to head down :-)

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 09/03/2018 17:21

I was scanned at 34 weeks with ds because I was losing weight and he was transverse. By 38 weeks when I went into labour he was head down.

DS2 was still transverse at 35+1 and until sometime not long before prem rupture of membranes at 36+6. I asked the midwife to double check when I was first admitted in early labour (as still early) because I was concerned he might still not be well positioned, but he was fine.
