Improving AMH and FSH naturally

Hi There,

I am new to Mumsnet and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of improving AMH and FSH results naturally. I have high FSH and low AMH and I am wondering if there are clinics (not IVF) that offer services to help you improve them and if anyone has had any experience with them?

Any advice on improving these results and experience with it would be a great help.

Thanks

Hi @Annique101

I'm afraid I've no idea what you're talking about and just in case you don't get the help you need from anyone else here, you could try posting in the conception board instead. They might have more knowledge there.

I had high fsh and went to a fertility acupuncturist and in 6 weeks it went down from 14odd to 5ish. I don’t think it improved my amh but my first ivf circle worked.

Thanks for that. I'll see what happens. How many sessions did you have?

Hi Annique

I had fairly low AMH - 3.2 and high fsh 23! and was told that I was unlikely to have any further children (had one at the time) without IVF. I went on to have dd2 - 2 years after this test was taken (naturally). I am also pregnant now 4.5 years down the line (naturally) and unsure what my amh would be now, plus I have had one loss in between. With dd2, I took micronized dhea (but you need to consult a fertility specialist about this first because it can actually aggravate certain conditions) but I wasn't taking this with pregnancy 3 or 4. The only thing I did both times was to improve my diet drastically cut out a lot of sugar, caffeine and alcohol - when I became pregnant nearly 9 months ago (at the age of 43) I was on a healthy eating drive and had lost nearly 3 stone (but I was overweight beforehand) and did a bit more exercise - nothing dramatic just walking most evenings. I don't know if this made any difference or not it might just have been coincidence. I think I was also taking ubiquinol and wheatgrass around the time I was ttc dc2 (again please consult a fertility specialist) at some point but I can't pin point when exactly. There is a book entitled Inconceivable written by Julia Indichova - she charts her battle after been diagnosed with high FSH, maybe worth taking a look. I believe FSH can fluctuate anyway.

Wishing you all the best - I know how stressful having fertility issues can be x

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! I'll look in to that.

I had weekly sessions to begin with then dropped down to key points in my cycle. She gave me advice regarding vitamins, diet etc and I found it really helpful. I’d ask locally if people you know know of anyone- mine was recommended by a friend who conceived naturally after 2 rounds of ivf while seeing the acupuncturist. (Mine is in Brighton if that helps you?) good luck!

I had high FSH and low amh and was basically told 4 years ago after a series of early losses that I couldn't have kids and ivf would be pointless - this was from a private consultant. I was already too old for NHS. Tried a year of charting furiously, 7 months of acupuncture with a fertility specialist, nothing at all.

Gave up, my partner (now DH) and I made other life plans, prioritised my wellbeing (like User above, improved diet, cut out sugar, increased exercise and concentrated on making the best of the hand we'd been dealt) and here I am, 27 weeks pg at 41 with our first child. I dont think that either FSH or amh are wholly reliable indicators but I honestly believe that stress has a huge impact on outcomes. I also realise that doesn't help immediately... :)

Wishing you all the best.

Thanks Brogueish for taking the time to write the words of encouragement. Can I ask... What were you levels?

Thanks again
