Hi ladies
I am currently sat on the loo expelling my 3rd MC
the doctor told me to collect the pregnancy sac but the lady at the EPU told me to collect all the blood clots?!
Which one is correct?
Do I have more chance them finding tissue to test if I collect all the clots? Or should I just discard them and find the sac?!

It oh so gruesome
And heartbreaking
But I am really hoping for some answers here so they can find out what went wrong!

Hi zarala, I'm so sorry for your loss. Collect everything sunstantial and get some rest.

I had a similar situation and it transpired my thyroid wasnt quite right. It was borderline so not picked up straight away. Ask if there are any research trials you can join, they can't do have but they can widen the investigations. Best of luck to you lady Xx

Rorymum · 07/03/2018 20:39

Harm not have xx

zarala · 08/03/2018 07:29

@Rorymum
Thanks for your reply
I ended up calling my friends mum who is a senior midwife and she came and helped me out.
She advised the same as you- collecting all the clots especially the bigger ones and I will take them to the EPU today

Morning zarala. I hope it goes smoothly for you today and that you're alright and have good support. Look after yourself. I always felt so tired afterwards x

Miloarmadillo2 · 08/03/2018 07:40

I'm so sorry. Ask to be referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic, and I would suggest you join the mumsnet RMC threads where you'll get lots of support, and also look into going to see Prof Quenby/Brosens in Coventry. My rainbow is about to be 4, I still haven't forgotten how wretched it all felt.

zarala · 08/03/2018 09:45

Thanks @Miloarmadillo2 I will definitely join the RMC group.
I have been debating between quenby and Shehata- I've heard so much good stuff about Dr S. but dr Q seems to be far less expensive!

@Rorymum yes I am entirely and totally wiped out today. My sister has taken my little one for the day and I am planning on just staying in bed and trying to rest

I've had a few intense cramps this morning but I haven't passed any more clots- just wondering whether that means there is more to come? Can it start up again today? Or is it usually just one intense evacuation session?

I have a scan on Monday in the hospital to make sure everything has come out FX
Just hoping I get my energy back for the weekend- it's tough with a toddler

@Miloarmadillo2
Hey just wondering if you can share the link for the RMC group as I was unable to find it!
I'm new on NM so not really great at navigating through it yet

@Rorymum
Hey just wondering how long the tiredness lasts? A couple of days? Or longer?
I know everyone has different experiences but just wondered how long I'm going to feel like this -

Please take care of your self and have plenty of rest. I always felt as if someone has sucked out all energy out of me. I went to Dr Shetata and my rainbow baby is 3 years now.

Rorymum · 08/03/2018 12:40

I'm glad the bleeding has settled. It's hard to say if it is finished but if it does start up again make sure you get checked quickly if it's very heavy. Your scan will give you peace of mind but try just to rest while you can in the meantime. It took it out of me for a week or two from what I remember and I passed everything in one night and my scans were ok. Psychologically speaking it was longer. It's a true bereavement. Be kind to yourself and don't rush anything. Xx

zarala · 08/03/2018 20:21

@Lokki thanks for the message and amazing news on your rainbow! I have made my first appointment with dr s end of April- I can't wait. I have heard so many good stories and I'm hoping I don't have to go through this nightmare again!
If you don't mind me asking what did he diagnose for you? And what did he give you?
I'm really hoping he finds something!

@Rorymum thank you for your kind words. I'm hoping to take 2 weeks off work to just coalesce- I've heard reflexology / acupuncture can be useful - do you have my experience in this?

I saw Mr S after 5 miscarriages and was able to have two children now aged 5 and 3. He’s truly brilliant when you think of the additional factors women who find him might have - miscarriage issues, fertility issues, some of us might be a bit older once we find we need treatment. I do hope it goes well for you but rest assured you will be in safe hands. Incidentally I have a thyroid problem and also was in the top 5% of high nk cells he sees in the clinic. I made a film about it, I can send you the link if you like. Until then try to have fun and enjoy life and be kind to yourself, hard as that might be. You’ve been through hell and anything you can do to make you feel better just do it x

Lokki · 08/03/2018 21:10

No I don’t mind at all. Dr. S diagnosed me to have very high NK cells and which was proven to be correct on my full blood count taken when I was pregnant with my daughter. He gave me prednisone and high protein IV. I strongly believe that helped me. He is brilliant and 2 weekly scans really put my mind at ease. Good luck and please do take care of your self. Watching films really helped me to get away from all of it.

zarala · 08/03/2018 21:36

@Freetodowhatiwant
Thanks for the message.
Wow! 5mcs! You are a soldier! I'm sorry you had to go through that. I really can't imagine doing this again! I am 36 in April so I do fall in the "older" category - although I can't quite believe it haha.
Had you seen anyone prior to Dr s?
My gp says she will refer my to the local RMC clinic but I am thinking I should just go straight to dr S and get fully treated and tested- I have read that the nhs is quite limited in this sphere....
I would love to see your film! Please share the link 😎
I am planning on just getting my body back these next 3 months. Yoga, maybe some acupuncture, we've got a holiday planned for Easter- so just going to try to relax and also work on whatever issue might be wrong with me.

@Lokki thanks! I just can't wait to see him.
I have a 16month old which we had with no issues so I am just wondering what could have changed since then?! I really hope he finds something so we can fix it!
And yes! I love films I am looking forward to this next week where I can justify laying on the couch and watching movies! Silver linings....

Actually it’s really common to have immune issues after you’ve had one successful pregnancy. Mr S will tell you that. I personally did have myself down for nhs treatment with both Mr S and St Mary’s but I decided to bite the bullet and see Mr S privately as I wanted get on with it quicker. I was almost 38 with DC1 and 40 with DC2 although I did have a miscarriage between the two. The only one I’ve been able to check ‘the products’ and it did turn out to be chromosomal. By the time I saw St Mary’s they said they couldn’t do anything for me as they don’t believe in high natural killer cells and I didn’t have any clotting issues. It’s a controversial area of medicine to some people but having interviewed all the people at the top of the pile they all have these big egos and don’t want each other to be right. Mr S will be a good move for you though, I think you have done the right thing. Let us know how it does! Will dig out my documentary link but also somewhere on the conception boards is a thread I started 6 years ago that’s still sometimes posted on. If you find the beginning of it it would be very interesting reading for you. It was initially called something like ‘ttc or pregnancy on prednisolone or similar’
