Does anyone know if you can change hospitals, and if so how you go about doing so? Also if it's possible, do you think it's too late now?
I'm meant to be consultant led and basically haven't seen a consultant at all yet as they are never in on my appointments.

Hi lass

Yes you can change and your consultant is defo meant to see you by now as it's a different route instead of midwife led.

If up in Scotland you speak to midwife and get them to change hospitals and an urgent referral to consultant is made. England not sure about.

Good luck mama.

I'm consultant led with first and this one too.

Hi, thanks for replying. I'm in England so maybe it will be slightly different? My midwife is also not the greatest. Phone calls are rejected and there's no way to leave a voice mail. Do you know who you'd go to next?

I did in my last pregnancy with only a few weeks to go but it was because we moved out of the area. I just registered with a GP straight away and was put in contact with the midwife. All went very smoothly.
Can you ring the antenatal unit at either the current or new hospital and see what they recommend you do?

If you are consultant led, it means that you are seen by their team. Often the Registrar. You dont always see the main consultant.
I would ring the main antenatal clinic and ask to speak to the midwife in charge about your care. if that does not help then consider moving hospital.
To change hospital, check out their website, often theres an option to self reger online. If not, ring their antenatal clinic and ask how to transfer care.

Personally speaking if you have been told your consultant led care and haven't seen the consultant yet then I would be up at the hospital knocking heads together with medical records/maternity notes

I saw my consultant at 12 weeks, and again at 20, 24 29 and every 2 weeks after that in first pregnancy and will do again this time.

Defo go knock heads together and try and get seen that day.
