Best nappies and wipes?

Newborn nappies were Aldi, then we found Huggies had less leakage potential by about Size 4 and now on pampers.

Wipes wise has always been water wipes or Aldi un scented sensitive wipes. Never had nappy rash and DS is 2.

Smellyjo · 03/03/2018 18:56

Cheeky wipes all the way. Pm me if you want a discount code! Prefer pampers but Tesco or Aldi nappies were perfectly fine. We wanted to do washable nappies but couldn't get the hang of them without constant leaks.

FuzzyTwiglet · 03/03/2018 18:58

Pampers nappies, Huggies wipes. Bought in bulk from Costco.

sourpatchkid · 03/03/2018 19:31

Mama bear wipes from amazon, I honestly couldn't recommend them enough. They're amazing.

IShouldReallyNamechange · 03/03/2018 19:36

We use Aldi nappies in the day and pampers baby dry at night as they're more absorbent. Water wipes.

coffeekittens · 03/03/2018 19:38

Pampers nappies and water wipes were best for my dd, however I look after a lot of children who use Aldi wipes and nappies which are perfectly fine.

heatherxo · 03/03/2018 20:29

Morrisons/sainsburys nappies. I found pampers were useless and DS was soaking them in 2 hours.
And morrisons or johnsons wipes. Although I used cotton wool balls and water for the first few months

Freddiesgirl · 03/03/2018 20:30

Aldi nappies and huggies wipes!

LauraO1905 · 03/03/2018 20:42

Depends on size.

Pampers newborn are very good bit expensive.

Aldi are great all sizes! Used them for both my DDs

The pampers pull ups are fab once they start wriggling about. My DD has these as her nighttime nappy. She's almost 3 and potty trained in daytime but still needs a nappy at night, they never leak.

LauraO1905 · 03/03/2018 20:43

Wipes Tesco/ALDI

sayanythingelse · 03/03/2018 20:47

Another vote for Tesco nappies. DD has recently moved on to a different formula which has given her explosive poops and Tesco nappies are the only ones that contain the explosion.

Also Aldi Mamia wipes.

Bear2014 · 03/03/2018 21:04

Bumgenius elementals and terry/fleece wipes. Disposable wise, anything that is on special offer; water wipes.

BergamotMouse · 03/03/2018 21:16

Another vote for bumgenius reusables. Or close pop ins.

Cheeky wipes are so much better than disposables when it comes to poo. There's a video of them cleaning chocolate spread off a hand to compare them.

But honestly - if you use flushable liners there's no more contact with poo than in disposables and they're so much better for the environment.

I saw a thing recently to say that if Henry VIII had been in disposables they would still be in landfill unchanged.

Loosemoose28 · 03/03/2018 21:21

After doing some research on biodegradable kit and kin came out the best. Planning on using kit and kin and reusables.

Wipes I have not yet decided on. For now ordered Aveeno as they worked out cheaper than Water wipes in bulk.

Rarotonga · 03/03/2018 21:31

I've been pleased with Tesco ultra dry and more recently their active nappies. Aldi and Boots own have been fine too.

Overnight - Pampers baby dry - the plus size - with baby dry pants in the next size up over the top. My baby wees a lot at night! He is very resistant to a nappy change at night too so they need to last around 12 hours. I tried so many different combinations of nappies including reuseables, but this is the only thing that works.

I've been happy with Mama Bear (Amazon), Water wipes and Johnson's sensitive wipes. But Tesco sensitive (the blue ones) are our favourites.

ineedwine99 · 03/03/2018 21:32

Aldi, both, nappies never leaked or irritated, wipes smell nice and again never any irritation

ineedwine99 · 03/03/2018 21:34

Water wipes for newborn until about 6 weeks old

SoftSheen · 03/03/2018 21:39

Newborn- Pampers New Baby nappies and WaterWipes.

6 months plus- Pampers BabyDry or Active Fit and Boots Sensitive own brand wipes.

DwangelaForever · 03/03/2018 21:43

Huggies wipes and Tesco nappies - yellow and green when they're smaller and the purple when they're bigger

KadabrasSpoon · 03/03/2018 21:43

It'll depend on your child - size / fit and if they get rashes from anything.

Found Asda to be good. Also Aldi and Lidl but not as near one.
I can't stand the chemical smell of pampers.

DwangelaForever · 03/03/2018 21:45

@KadabrasSpoon I thought I was going insane with the chemical smell with pampers! Found these from size 2/3 and changed to Tesco and didn't look back

Bangkokbaby · 03/03/2018 21:45

Cheeky wipes and water
Tots bots or little lamb. Much preferred reusables to disposables as my girls didn't get nappy rash with them.

ThatGirl82 · 03/03/2018 21:50

Aldi nappies and sensitive wipes suit my daughter (which I’m pleased about as they are so cheap!). But I think different brands of both suit different babies so worth trying a few.

Anxiouschild · 03/03/2018 22:40

Cheeky Wipes at home and Water Wipes for out and about worked well for us. No disposable wipe comes close to the poo-cleaning ability of cheeky wipes.

Nappies: buy a small pack or two of whatever is cheap/convenient for you and see how you get on. Totally agree with PPs that different shaped babies suit different brands, and which brands fit can change as they move through the sizes. I've found this true of both cloth and disposables (I use both).
DD1 was a very skinny baby (now a skinny preschooler!) and had a number of brands which leaked terribly (Boots and Tots Bots AIO nappies being the worst). DD2 is at the slimmer end of average and has got on well with every brand we've tried except Sainsbury's.

Baubletrouble43 · 03/03/2018 22:42

Tesco for both.
