Just had 20 week scan yesterday and luckily all was well :) dh wouldn't really talk about baby actually arriving until that was done but now feels a bit real and not really sure where to start with getting ourselves ready for baby's arrival! I feel I know nothing at all!! Going to start with a couple of possibly crazy basic questions - what do babies sleep under or in? As in I know Moses basket or whatever and sleep suit but are they under sheets or in a sleeping bag thing from new born?! Also what do babies where during the day when out and about? I get hopefully lots of time will be asleep so in sleep suits but what about when we go out? Baby due in July as well so realise won't be one of those very big warm looking suits! Any help would be gratefully received!

@katmarie we were the same. Couldn't really afford this baby due to other life stuff going on so bought pretty much everything second hand and were given lots of hand me downs from family. We got an amazing graco travel system for £25 and lots of clothes bundles for £5/£10....a lot of it new or hardly used. We've had some real bargains and have been able to get premium stuff (frugi, john Lewis, ergo etc) that we wouldn't have been able to afford new. It's fun looking for it too and better for the planet.

I agree with SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad! My nieces and nephews had quite a collection of muslins and they are the definition of multipurpose lol They don’t have to be plain as well, I got some personalised muslins as a gift along with some super cute cartoon bibs. Bibs are such a good idea to help reduce the amount of wardrobe changes throughout the day! GrinGrin

Also, lots and lots of babygrows are a must, whether you have bibs to hand or not! They are so easy to pack and change your little one into, I remember my nephew going through these at record rates!
