Anterior placenta- kicks then nothing

Hiya- I'm a FTM, 22 weeks with healthy boy. I started feeling big proper kicks and pokes from 18 weeks and feel him for at least 2-3 hours a day- sometimes more. At my detail scan I was told I have an anterior (low lying) placenta which sits behind my belly - this can mean its harder to feel baby or feel much later- also means if my placenta doesn't lift by 32 week scan they will do that my only option is a section.

I last felt my boy at 11 last night, he kicked repeatedly for over an hour and my mum felt him again too- then since then nothing- it's been 24 hours. I've tried cold drinks lying in any and all positions, rubbing belly shaking belly etc but nothing and I'm not worried ? Anyone else have days where they feel absolutely nothing with AP?

I would ring the hospital op
Better to get checked!

Yes, ring your antenatal unit now. Don't wait until morning.

I went to the hospital once for reduced fetal movement and after tests and monitoring, I was told everything was fine - but that I'd definitely done the right thing by getting checked out.

22 weeks is pretty early, but I'd definitely still phone the antenatal unit for advice. They should be open 24/7.

I’m almost 23 weeks with an anterior placenta and hardly feeling anything either. I felt more a few weeks ago. We’ve got a Doppler so the baby’s heart is definitely beating. My midwife said it was a lot harder to feel kicks with an anterior placenta.

If you are worried I’d call. But as pp said 22 weeks is quite early.
I’m 27 weeks now and still have quiet days.

In hindsight, i felt very little movement with my anterior placenta. I realised when i went into labour that what i had often taken for movement was actually Braxton Hicks. In the hospital they told me that he was hiccupping and couldn't i feel it? I couldn't feel a thing.

You do the right thing to check basically, but you may end up making a fair few trips if you're more switched on than me! Confused

I had similar with anterior placenta, at similar dates - I called the hospital at 23 weeks for reduced movements and they said they wouldn't monitor or anything until at least 28

Worth giving yours a call though as they may be different!
