Has anyone ever moved house and in particular moved district or area while pregnant. I am currently 7 months pregnant and might be moving to a new area before the baby is born. Can i still give birth j

I moved 500 miles when 8 months pregnant! A lot less stressful than I expected! Of course you can still give birth, how far will you be when you move?

Yes I moved to a different district when I was 34 weeks pregnant. Had to quickly get registered at the GP surgery and the midwife team but it was all fine.

I'm pregnant with DC 2 now though and they still refer to me as 'the one who came to us at 34 weeks last time' so I assume it was a bit of a talking point between them at the time.

This actually posted early! Can i still give birth in same hospital or would i have to go to a different one? Also what would happen after i came home as it’d be a different midwife/health visitor area!

I am 12+3 wks pregnant and plan on moving to a new area in August. Baby due 1st September. You can have you baby in any hospital

I moved from Italy back to the UK at 7 months pregnant first time, obviously had to change hospital.
Second pregnancy I moved 200 miles at around 6 months. Again, changed hospital.
You can have your baby in any hospital you want. How far is the new area from your existing one?

Providing your hospital is still within a reasonable travelling distance for you and you want to go there it's fine.

The midwives you see for antenatal appointments and postnatal appointments don't tend to be the same ones that you see in hospital anyway.

My midwife/health visitor team is in a different trust to the hospital I will be using and it doesn't cause any problems at all. The only slight issue is that both trusts want booking bloods etc for their own records so I've had to do a few things twice as they don't accept each other's results Hmm

Thanks all! It’s only an extra 20-25 minute drive so not too far :)

You can give birth wherever you like but if you move hospital you will need to book in again and they might repeat some tests. Photocopy your notes as it doesn't always move over smoothly.

Good luck! My house move took ages and I ended up moving with a newborn. I suspect moving whilst pregnant would be easier!
