What to get for baby to sleep in downstairs?

Just wondering if anyone has ideas on whether we need anything for baby to sleep in downstairs. We have a cosharing crib for the bedroom so don't have a moses basket.

We wondered whether people use the carrycot from their pram or maybe a padded playmat? My mum said we all slept in bouncer chairs, but I've read that they're not safe for sleeping.

If I wasn't using the sling I used a baby nest on the floor or a really thick snuggly blanket. Won't be able to do that second time round though as toddler DD will probably stamp on the baby.

I'm hoping that DC2 will settle in the pram carry cot instead (DD never really did) so I don't have to buy anything new.

Our first slept in her moses basket (and sometimes her bouncer chair 🙈) as we were in a flat we could easily move the basket from our bedroom to living room.

This time we have a carry cot for the pram, I plan to put baby in there for downstairs naps, if she will let me of course Grin

I ended up buying baby lo snug for downstairs (bigger than Moses basket). I read info on lullaby trust that the sleepy head type thing isn't suitable as it's not firm and safe to sleep in. So many do's and dont's 😥

The lullaby trust advises against the sleepy head type beds.
That's why I ended up getting the babylo snug for downstairs. There's so many do's and dont's it's very confusing

Hi @BlueRaincoat89 I'm
Probably not the best person to
Advise as this is my first time! I initially was going to go with the snuz pod 3 for upstairs and then use the pram bassinet for downstairs.... but as it dawned on me that because of this covid situation I'll be in the house a lot first 6 months so
I decided to buy babylo snug kinda like Moses basket but bigger. It was £70 from Smyth's and comes with a sheet.
Some people on another thread say they use the sleepy head pod type things for downstairs but I read on lullaby trust website they increase risk of sids due to it being soft and not a place to leave baby unattended. Hope your get sorted soon :)

We used ourselves. Hope to god your baby isn't like mine and won't be out down for six weeks 😂 but in all seriousness after he settled, the sleepyhead was a winner . We moved it around depending what room we were in or where we were visiting, and he slept in it in all weird and wonderful places (back in the days when we could visit places other than home) 😂

Hi @leasedaudi I am a little
Worried I should have just invested in the sleepy head!!
Ah fingers crossed they will
Sleep
In the babylo snug!! 🤞🤞
