on a scientific basis eight tablets a day is the safe limit for a 50kg woman, you probably weight 80-90kg at the moment so blood levels for you are lower on two tablets, being stressed and in pain isn't good for baby so on a risk benefit basis you have less need to worry.

Paracetamol is used in special care units on very small sick babies to reduce fever so the baby can handle it.

only a few more hours to go for the dentist so hang on in there

once that local anaesthetic is in (it will be obvious to dentist re pregnancy so will use anaesthetic well used in pregnancy)

after this labour will be a doddle (personally prefer labour to toothache)

dentist may give antibiotics (will give one used a lot in pregnancy)

You can take codeine too. Speak to your GP about this.

Just to second Edie - I now have dihydracodeine for migraine and am 20wks. Fine in pg - ask your gp or pharmacy.

dentist could prescribe something with codeine in if you need it after this pm (but will worsen constipation)

Summerfruit poor poor you, sounds like you've really been through it, what a horrible way to end your pregnancy. I had bad toothache, but not bad as yours, just after ds2 was born a few weeks ago. I took a bit more paracetamol than was meant to and in the night when we'd run out and was desparate for some sleep took some nurofen too. Not sure how bad it is when breastfeeding but I haven't worried about it too much.

Sounds like you are going to be fixed very soon and it will feel like such a relief. Then make sure that you do nothing but catch up on your sleep!!
