25 weeks tomorrow and still not showing

Is this normal? I'm 25 weeks tomorrow and I don't look pregnant, at all. This is my first pregnancy and I'm slim size 8/10. I can feel the baby kicking and moving around (as far up as my belly button, but no further), but I don't have an official 'bump' yet.

Sometimes it looks as though I have a teeny weeny bump, but then I'll wake up the next morning and realise it was just food/bloat.

Generally speaking, I haven't gained much weight this pregnancy. My starting weight was 55.4kg and it's gotten up to 62.2 on a particularly gluttonous day. Averagely, though, it's about 60.5kg now. I'd also like to add that I'm 5"6, so not that tall (I know that tall women sometimes have smaller bumps).

I'm starting to get quite worried now.

I just wonder how common or normal this is for first time pregnancies. I get strange looks and comments when I tell people I'm pregnant and how far along I am, so I'm starting to feel like I'm doing something wrong. I see pictures o Instagram of women as far along as I am, and they have these lovely protruding bellies - wondering why this isn't the case for me.

Midwives aren't concerned, but I haven't had a scan since 20 weeks. I do worry that if I were to have a scan right now (hypothetically speaking), they may realise that the baby hasn't grown much since then (my belly certainly hasn't). I worry about my baby so much. I just want him to be safe and healthy.

:(

Please try not to worry. I was huge with dc1 and practically no bump with dc2, my neighbours could'nt tell I was pregnant and were miffed when they saw me pushing DD in her pram.

I was like this too with my first, I didn't show really until 26 weeks or so. Measurements of my stomach were always ok that's what they go by. The midwife said my stomach muscles were great, so don't worry 😊 After I had both my children I stood up and my stomach was flat. Good stomach muscles 👍

I didn't show properly with dd1 til I was 32 weeks. I was the came size as you 8-10, my stomach muscles were really strong so it took a while, I woke up one morning with a bump! Don't worry,

I envy you your abdominal muscles! Not to worry- if you Google 25 week pregnant belly, there are quite a few with little /no discernable bump. Usually women with a six pack. You must be in great shape - well done you! Wish I could say the same.

I was the same with my first. I was a size 10. I didn't begin to show until I was 6 mths. And I had a nice small bump when she was born.
Every one carries different. I am 5ft 7 and have a long back. Just means I have more room to carry babies inside of me.

I was the same with dc1, by far the smallest in ante natal classes, ds was 8lbs 8oz. Not small at all!

harrietm87 · 06/02/2018 07:04

I didn't have a bump at all until about 26/27 weeks - it really did just pop out overnight! 31 weeks now and it's pretty big!

AutumnalTed · 06/02/2018 07:10

These were taken on the same day, a month before I gave birth to an 8lb chunk.

SundayLunchHappy · 06/02/2018 07:16

Don't worry! I am 34 weeks and only in the last month have people really started to acknowledge I'm visibly pregnant. You'll get there before you know it and then wonder how on Earth you're meant to get out of a rocking chair Grin

You’ve obviously got good abdominal muscles. I wouldn’t worry too much - baby will find the space they need.
