Boil water, pour desired amount into sterilised bottles, allow to cool to room temperature. Add formula as and when a feed is needed. Shake, feed baby?

I always made bottles up one at a time - boil kettle & add to formula 20 minutes later (used Aptamil) then put in cold water.

But adding the powder to cool water which doesnt sterilize any of the bacteria is worse. There are documented cars of infants having meningitis from bacteria in formula (it was a very rare bacteria and traced back to the factory).

As a previous poster said I find it strange that so many people still don't add the formula to boiling water ie do it right. On a local FB page I'm on a lady was asking about taking milk on flights and pretty much everyone commented that they take cold sterile water in a flask to make up bottles. Really? It's on the instructions on the box...

I would boil kettle and pour just enough to dilute then top up with water straight from the tap! 😮 our water comes through a filter and uv light to kill any bugs.
