38 weeks and really nasty headaches

I'm 38+1 and since Wednesday have been suffering really awful headaches, keeping me up at night. It's odd because I generally don't get headaches at all, I can probably count on one hand the number I've had in my life. So this is really out of the norm. Also worrying me is slightly blurred vision, not terrible but I've been unable to read small text etc, but I do get dry eyes due to sjogrens syndrome so just assumed it was because of that.
I saw the mw for a routine appointment on Tuesday who checked my blood pressure and urine and all was fine then, so do you think there's a cause for concern?

Don't be terrified about the cannula, the same thing happened to me when I was admitted when I was 30 weeks pregnant with DC2. I had awful D&V and was so dehydrated that he had no fluid around him. Then I started contracting and the contractions were stopping his heart Sad But fear not, he's 4 next month and a total legend of a kid.

I know it must be scary there, but you're really in the best place. Better there than at home where you're not being monitored. Presumably the other lady is in labor? I recall mooing like a cow when I was laboring so I appreciate how disconcerting it must be to others!

Have they said when they might induce you? Do you know what your having? Try and focus on the positives and that's that you'll have your newborn in your arms so soon - it's an incredible moment. Sending hugs Thanks

Twig - fingers crossed everything everything goes well x I was induced and it was scary but once the pessary started working it was just like normal (2dc)

I believe I was fairly vocal - when the midwife told me i was crowning and I could put mt hand down and feel I told her to "fucking get it out of me cos it fucking hurts" Blush

They had to prise the gas and air from my hand twenty minutes after I delivered because I was giggling away.

Thinking of you x

How are you now Op?

PastaOfMuppets · 04/02/2018 04:32

OP you doing ok?

Tortadellanonna · 04/02/2018 04:36

Your blood pressure is high, so the blood will come out quick. You are in the best place, and you will meet your baby soon.

Thank you everyone, I just had a bit of a freak out last night. Much better now in the cold light of day, although this bastard cannula can feck right off as soon as the drip is empty...

Oh cannulas can be messy lovely so that's quite normal (still not nice though)....hope they get things going really soon.
Don't be terrified....lots of pain relief options and you get to meet your little baba soon!! Other people making noise isn't helpful though is it. I bet you're shattered too.
I'm so glad you got it checked out!

Update: after a failed induction I was whipped off to theatre for an emergency c-section on Tuesday afternoon, baby boy is well and happy Smile
