This is my 13.3 week scan pic and wondered what everyone thought? I've not had many responses as we can't figure out if that's the nub or part of baby's leg as the line matches up with leg?

It’s sex, not gender.

Gender is what you now do with the information that you’re having a child with female sex organs.

TittyGolightly- look if you can't say congratulations then why comment? I don't understand why people like you have to cause a negative vibe? Yeah gender /sexing scan see it however you want to see it?

Not “however I want to see it” - they mean different things. Like car and motorbike.

You’re having a girl. It should not be any different to having a boy, but hey, congratulations from a complete stranger if you need ‘em. Hmm

Omg get a life people!!

I booked something that was called an 'early gender scan' with a very popular ultrasound and I found out I was having a girl... Who cares whether the title of the scan was grammatically correct or not.

Besides when you read into this, linguistically there isn't any difference..

Anyway, Congratulations again to you @Miajesse97. Ignore these saddos who have nothing better to do that piss on your cornflakes Hmm

I'm very aware of the difference thankyou so because I used a certain word your going against me for that? And at what point did I say anything about there being a difference? I never said I wanted a girl or a boy I would of been equally thrilled with either ?

Meemzinha - exactly that's what the title is at the scanning facility. They call it an gender scan so I'm just using the terms they use it's amazing how low people have to go just to please them selves honestly this thread was to guess baby's gender for fun and to say congrats I guess if that's wanted not to correct my way of wording things honestly some people

They use the term gender I use the germ gender why does it matter? my baby is healthy and is a little girl ( would of been equally happy with a boy before you start) so why try and ruin someone mood?

@Miajesse97 thats the clinic im going to on the 17th im so excited. some people just dont ever seem to anything nice to say and always have be in the right (even if they are not)

They are lovely in there and ever so patient my little lady was ever so shy so all we really saw was legs and arms bless her but you will have a lovely time!
And I know it's ridiculous talk about try and burst my bubble aye if the term gender was so wrong then I'm sure the facility wouldn't use it

It matters. Especially today.

Sex = biology.

Gender = societal expectations.

If you don’t understand why that is important then there’s not much help I can give you. They’re marketed as gender scans because companies don’t like to use the word sex in advertising (what with British sensitivities). It’s wrong, but as long as they sell their vanity scans they don’t care.

And it’s “have”, not “of”. Wink

Listen this post wasent created to establish the difference between the two! and why does it matter how I see the situation and what word I use? I'm very aware her sex is a girl but untill she decides she wants a penis instead love her gender is also female untill she says otherwise! Grow up correcting others on their way of spelling honestly

For what it's worth the place I went to call it gender scan too, who cares! I wonder if these people would have the balls to say this to your face at the clinic if you said gender scan, don't see why they have to be so bitchy and look for a row.
