This sounds a bit weird but has anyone else experienced a bit of a numb bump? Im 35 weeks and i thought i was having reduced movement's but i sat and watched my belly and it was wriggling like mad, really obvious movements but i could barely feel it? Anyone else had anything similar?

No I've not heard of that but didn't want to read and run.

I did have other problems in late PG though which could have had serious outcomes if I hadn't had them checked out quickly. So on that basis I would always say if in doubt, at all, call your midwife/maternity unit for advice.

I had this and went in for monitoring... however I wasn’t looking at my bump until I was on the monitor. I could see but not feel. Mw said baby is probs kicking about at the back of me which is why I couldn’t feel. But if you are worried always check!! Xx

I had similar when I was around 30 something weeks with both mine. I seem to stretch so much that I go numb at some points. I’d go get checked just in case but it was never an issue with mine. I can feel them more on the outside than inside later on... funnily enough my mum told me the story of her having to have a c section the other week, and that when she was pregnant with me and the doctors were trying to move me from breech position, they kept asking if she can feel anything and she kept saying no despite me moving around like crazy... so obviously she had the same thing too. Weird! Still though, get it checked out if you’re worried Flowers

Mines numb at the top and has been for a few weeks (I'm 36 weeks). When i first realised an area was numb I googled it and found the general consensus on the internet was that your skin stretches so much in late pregnancy that it affects some of the nerve endings in your skin.

I don't have any other concerns, all movements are fine, so I haven't done anything about it. But I would say if you're particularly worried you should get checked out or ask your midwife.

I've been feeling her move more now so I'm not worried, just very odd! I did wonder if possibly she'd dropped a bit or it was because I'm constipated that maybe its cushioning something? Who knows lol il be glad when she's out it's exhausting keeping an eye on movements and wondering whether you need to be worried or not! Thanks for all your replys Flowers

Yep! I googled it and it's common for your skin to stretch so much that your lose some feeling. I find resting my hands on my bump helps me feel the kicks and movement.
