Sore under both armpits at nearly 20 weeks - just ingrown hair follicles or something else?

I’m hoping it isn’t a sign that my lymph nodes are swollen and i’m fighting off a virus... I don’t feel unwell in any other way but I’m paranoid about infections and viruses like toxoplasmosis, listeria and the flu etc.

I have my 20 week scan on Thursday - is it worth phoning someone before then?

What does it look like? Is there a rash? Folliculitis is a common infection of the hair follicle and it often happens when your immune system is suppressed, especially if you've been using a swimming pool or sauna (probably not, I know) or communal showers recently (think like at the gym). But you can get it lots of places. You can also just cause it yourself from shaving. It looks like little red bumps that tend to have white heads on them. I've had it (in my armpit, caused by using a hot tub, not when I was pregnant obviously). But I can imagine you must be even more susceptible to it when pregnant. I got a bit under my bra line this pregnancy. Usually an anti-fungal or antibiotic cream (on prescription) will sort it. Otherwise, if no rash, could just be your body fighting an infection off that you don't even know about. Have you gotten your jabs recently. It could happen while you build up antibodies (which is a good thing!) after jabs. But I think the lymph nodes would be obviously swollen and you would know if that's what it is.

No rash - just red lumps that are a bit tender and sore at the moment but seem to be better than they were earlier. I’m not too worried as I don’t feel unwell in any other way. I’ve not had any jabs recently nor shaved in the past few days either so am thinking lymph nodes more than anything else.

I’m having my 20 week scan tomorrow so will ask my consultant then.
