Should I be going to see my midwife?

So I am 35+5 weeks pregnant, and two nights ago I was feeling cramping in my lower belly, it was a constant pain but got more and less painful throughout the night, I had lower back ache and just felt crap, after an hour or so these pains stopped completely and I felt fine, now I keep getting pains on and off, no regular time, sometimes hours apart and sometimes minutes apart but they’re not stopping, I’ve woken up this morning and I feel like I’ve got the flu! pelvic pressure , needing to wee constantly and just horrible flu symptoms! What should I do?!
Last time I went to the midwife (33+6 weeks) she said he’d started to engage, so I’m worried I may be in slow/early labour but don’t want to go to the midwife if I’m just being dramatic Confused

Could you just call them for a chat and see what they say? Would save a trip. It sounds like something could be happening. They would always rather see you than not!

Could be baby getting more engaged. Glamouroysly it could also be a uti. Midwife for a quick review and take a urine sample with you to dipstick?

I called labour ward a couple if times for advice. They were more than happy to chat. Once I needed to go in for a check once I was fine. If you're worried then call.

Sounds like a uti - go and get yourself checked

With the exception of the flu like symptoms, all that sounds pretty normal. I'm 38 weeks now and have had all of that since about 35 weeks. I even had an early baby last time (but no cramping or signs of anything with her) and still nothing, very much still pregnant. I even had one night when it woke me up and I actually had to get up and breathe through it. But if you are truly feeling unwell, it's worth ringing your midwife. It's possible it could be UTI, though in my experience, UTIs are pretty miserable! I would know the difference between one and period like cramps and pressure. I personally get really sharp pains, horrible pain weeing and usually blood in the urine. It could be just normal engaging cramps and pressure combined with you coming down with a virus, but if you're worried, it's worth having them do a quick urine swab.
