Anyone else feeling like this? I'm finally 31 weeks, and I could not be happier about my first baby being on the way, but I can't help myself from feeling fed up... there's nothing in particular I'm just feeling like shit, then I feel even worse for feeling shit because this should be a happy time.
I have got an amazing support around me, but when you can't explain why you're so upset, randomly crying or feeling down it's hard for them to understand.
I guess it's just a mixture of my emotions and hormones.

My mind is constantly playing over drive and I feel like I'm going to let everyone down, I don't even want to think about how I'm going to cope on statutory maternity leave, there is a million and one things going through my head.

Oh my god I am so glad I’m not alone... all I’ve done today is debate whether or not to take a day or 2 off tomorrow but think I may save it for next week after my exam so i’ll hopefully be stress free (wishful thinking) I don’t know how I’m coping with broken sleep as I keep waking up on my back so I’m a paranoid wreck even though I go sleep on my side, working every day, then coming home to revise!! I need this qualification out of the way before baby arrives otherwise I don’t think I’ll ever go back and do it !!!

32 + 2 here and had enough, everyone like "how's you?" I can't even hide it anymore, I reply with "tired, uncomfortable and generally shit" I'm hoping they will stop asking me soon. Thing is, I've got a dry sarcastic sense of humour anyway so everyone laughs when I say it but all I want to do is stay in bed.. except I can't stay in bed, because it hurts my back or whatever side I am laying on, so I have to get up and walk about, which hurts my hips and bum cheeks. I feel like a hairy Humpty Dumpty. When I lay on my side I feel like someone should be chucking water on me to keep me alive before the pull me back out to sea. Is anyone else feeling really hot as well? My body thinks I'm in the Caribbean.

Passmethecakeplease · 31/01/2018 22:42

I'm just over 35 weeks and I feel grumpy all the time. I wish I could snap out of it as I'm actually really excited to have my baby but I just can't.

I feel like i need locking away until baby actually arrives.

How is everybody doing?

FirstMumToBe · 04/02/2018 16:06

Feeling a lil bit better, ended up working from home for Thursday and Friday, that helped staying in bed and working!! Just getting pissed off with people telling me what to do with my child and it’s not even here yet 😡😡😡

I felt exactly the same with my first. Just felt crappy and down all the way through. I put it down to the hormones.
I felt fabulous all the way through with my 2nd and that was a boy. Currently 10wks with my 3rd and feeling pretty pants like first time.

Ooh FirstMum what gems have you been given? Let's play 'new mum to be lotto' 😝

harrietm87 · 04/02/2018 21:13

Argh saw my inlaws yesterday and they kept going on about how massive I was and how the baby was going to be huge and wouldn't fit into any of the clothes they'd bought for it. I must have said about 10 times that I'm measuring bang on average for my gestation (fundal height 30cm at 30 weeks) so no indication whatsoever that the baby would be big, but they just ignored it and kept going on about it. I was really offended and can't stop thinking about it!

FirstMumToBe · 05/02/2018 08:14

@mustbemad17 Oh I got told what I should and shouldn't eat whilst pregnant over the weekend, we're going on holiday with the baby in the summer so I've been told I'm selfish because it'll be too hot for a baby (not too sure what Spanish people do when they have kids, they cope with the heat), I said I'm going to comfort the baby when it cries as it can't get too much attention as I read it in a book and they've all said I'll be making a rod for my own back.

Oh and they hate the names I've chosen. Bore off.

Ding ding ding hahaha winner!! Even now on my third i get all that. 'Should you be eating that?' Erm, i dunno, shall i call the warden???
Yes, god forbid you take your baby somewhere warm, we just don't have the right equipment to deal with it us Brits 🙄

I never let my DD cry on her own, have many memories of me eating one handed under the disgusted eyes of my then ILs because I wouldn't leave her to cry. She's the most independent little buggar I know 👍🏻

Pittcuecothecookbook · 05/02/2018 08:25

I ask where people did their medical training when they bore me with what I should and shouldn't eat.

I also keep waking up in the night with numb hands and arms where I've been lying on them. Then I get pins and needles and have to flap them around and it's a right pain in the bloody arse. I'm currently late for work as I had to fall back to sleep after waking up at 4pm and now getting a train one and a half hours later than my usual one. Not sure I'll tell my boss it's because I got a numb hand at 4am.

FirstMumToBe · 05/02/2018 08:51

I wouldn't mind.. but it's not like I haven't been pregnant for the past 7 months!!!! I got prescribed some antihistamines and oh the look I got when I went to take one, even when I explained the doctors gave them me for the irritating itchiness I have suffered throughout the whole of my pregnancy they still wasn't impressed.

@Pittcuecothecookbook I'm struggling to sleep, I'm seeing the back end of tonsillitis and keep getting the most painful leg cramps throughout the night, I am waking up crying!!
Did anyone suffer with pregnancy insomnia??? it's becoming once a week or more but I'm going to sleep for a hour or 2 then becoming wide awake unable to fall back to sleep, I have tried everything and it's not working!! I miss my sleep!

Pitt it would probably be a change from 'the bus was late' for your boss, i bet he'd welcome new reasons for people to be late 😂

FirstMum i have pregnancy insomnia on & off, it's a total PiTA!! Then i spend the day whinging cos i'm tired haha

FirstMumToBe · 05/02/2018 11:40

Mustbemad17 it is honestly horrendous, especially when DP is sleeping I just want to shake him so he will be awake too!!
Question - do you have any recommendations for a stroller/buggy for a 4/5 month old? I don't want to take my pram away with me as it is too bulky, so was going to buy a buggy/stroller to use for the holiday and was hoping to buy one which baby will be able to use when they have grown out of the pram - but not sure what I'm looking for. A few do say suitable from Birth but not too sure whether that's true or not?

I hate buggies tbh 🙈 But there are some that are suitable from birth, i got given a loaner one when my travel system needed repairing & it was actually okay. Was from Mothercare 🙂
