Sainsbury’s pregnancy tests 2 ‘postitive’? Help

Basically I’m 17 days late for my period and as a young woman it’s starting to get me all worried (as it would anyone at 19 years old), I brought 2 Sainsbury’s pregnancy test and took 1, it came up negative - an hour later I decided to check it again and I could see a clear thin blue line slightly to the left of the test, from this I started to get worried, so I took the other test...I waited 3 minutes and I swear I could see a faint line but my boyfriend swore he couldn’t, I looked again 10 minutes later and I’m 95% sure I can see a line, even though it’s extemely faint.
Today I’ve taken a Superdrug test which came up negative and a Clear Blue digital test that’s come up with Not pregnant.
I’m now really confused, I’ve researched what this could mean and I’ve seen that Sainsbury’s test can be pretty unreliable with evaporation lines and stuff, but it still concerns me that I’m 17 days late for my period?!
Any opinion would be much appreciated Smile

At 17 days late you’d expect a very very strong line.

At 17 days past your period, I think tests would be pretty definitive. I don't think you are pregnant, especially considering the clearblue digital test. However, there are no absolutes and our bodies are all different.

I would book a routine GP appointment and tell them what you've said here, as it's worth getting to the bottom of why your period is late.

Can you post pictures of the positive tests? I would usually say at 17 days late and a clear blue digital that says no its unlikely.

I’m not sure how to post a picture otherwise I would Confused thanks for your help!

I’m definitely going to book an appointment with my doctor, I’ve never missed a period and it’s starting to drive me a little crazy not knowing what’s going on and why I haven’t started Hmm

Looking at a pregnancy test after an hour isn't going to give you a reliable result, it sounds like you saw an evaporation line, the instructions say you should never trust the results after 10 min and at 17 days late you would see a strong positive by now.

In most cases, before anyone jumps on me!

NeveEden · 29/01/2018 10:13

Yeah I thought that would be the case, it just really threw me that’s all, especially the second test. Thanks for your help!

Good luck at the Drs OP!

I would never trust a Sainsbury's own brand blue dye test, they are ALWAYS positive for me, even when I am definitely not pregnant! Have heard others say the same - I don't know how they can sell them!

I agree with CaptainsCat! I’ve had false positives with sainsburys before. Buy a first response to be sure x

The Sainsbury’s ones are shockingly bad for evap lines. I made my husband take one and he got the same result as me so I knew I wasn’t pregnant. If after 17 days a digital is saying not pregnant you’re likely not pregnant. Doesn’t help with the missed period so I think the GP trip is a good plan but I wouldn’t worry.
