Anyone know if it's ok to take water wipes to use at the hospital?
Picked a couple of packs up today at one of the supermarkets while the baby event is on Smile

I took sensitive with my DS and it was frowned upon.
And I will do the same with this one. I don't think they dare take them off me. Lol

I had DS2 at Watford late last year - water wipes were fine. They did mention to another lady that she might want to try some cotton wool but her baby had nappy rash already!

Wow. i live in Australia and brought my own nappies and bog standard Huggies wipes for both my babies. Midwives didn't concern themselves with what I used at all. Haven't even heard of using cotton wool and water, isn't that quite fiddly for those first meconium poos?? Is this an environmental thing or is it out of concern for their skin?

Thank you for reminding me about cheeky wipes - had forgotten about them but really keen to try them.

We were encouraged to use water wipes.

(Ps if you get on with them bulk order from amazon via subscribe and save. Much cheaper).

Boots own brand wipes are 98% water if it helps anyone - been using them for 15 months, no problems

We took water wipes for nappy changes (essential for the first few black tar ones - I can imagine using cotton wool would be a nightmare!)

I think I totally misunderstood the ‘only use cotton/water’ to mean for actually wiping the rest of the baby, the daily top n tailing etc. For poopy nappies I used water wipes straight away. And moved to Johnson’s extra sensitive shortly afterwards - still use those now at 20 months!

I'm sure I took water wipes for my second - either way a pack of wipes are handy to have for yourself as well as the baby!

My top tip by the way - a thin smear of olive oil over the baby's bum ASAP after birth and the gross tarry poo wipes straight off.
