I drink more for sure, but not 6 litres.

I drink about 6 litres and I'm incredibly healthy and 35 weeks pregnant. I've always drank a lot but it's doubled since pregnancy. It's probably really good for you no?

Hi, I have two children (now 14 and 17 years) and oh my goodness was I sooooo thirsty each pregnancy!! I had to constantly have a pint of cold water with me at all times and I drank so, so much. It was only investigated in the second pregnancy and they could find absolutely nothing wrong. It was just normal for me. Both babies were perfectly healthy, as was I. I craved ice cubes too. Honestly, I felt fine and it was fine!

Unquenchable thirst is apparently a symptom of gestational diabetes. Have you been tested or is that what the midwife is sending you for?

Oysterbabe · 26/01/2018 16:35

It's dangerous to drink that much water. Get checked for diabetes.

Potteryprincess30 · 26/01/2018 16:46

It really isn't dangerous to drink 5/6 litres a day if it's already from morning till night. And your thirst is quenched by that. If your still really thirsty though I'm not sure. I've been fully checked, bloods, urine, weight ect and Im one of the healthiest mums to be they've seen across the board on these tests

It could be your salt levels, or iron deficiency. I remember getting this in pregnancy.

Buxbaum · 26/01/2018 21:46

I was going to suggest that it could be gestational diabetes.
