because "all" I managed to cook us for dinner was Haddock in Bread Crumbs (straight out the box), New potatoes and baked beans. Been beating myself up that DH deserves something better than that for his dinner when he's been out at work all day - especially as he's probably seen some really lovely dinners while out at work (he's a TV licence officer so goes into lots of peoples houses everyday)

I've just about managed to remind myself that I am 34+3 days pg and most nights I'm still cooking properly from scratch.....

He is a lucky man..... all what mine got from the last month of pregnancy and beyond was M&S!!

moretomorrow · 28/04/2007 01:03

hey, some men are lucky to get that from an unpg wife never mind one who is probably feel decidedly pg at the moment.

and you forgot to mention that he has also seen some homes that, well, look kinda mine does at the moment too. and i am not pg. i have a toddler though! i got up just now to do a spot of tidying up but 'have to' mn first.

fannyannie · 28/04/2007 01:05

ahh but moretomorrow - he's also seen some immaculate homes with 3 pre-schoolers running round in them........

I shall tell him in the morning - and we'll probably both laugh about it - but I feel terrible right now

do people actually let TV licence officers in?!? Not that I would know ANYTHING about avoiding TV Licence men

moretomorrow · 28/04/2007 01:10

those people aren't normal. or they have a cleaner, nanny, etc.

moretomorrow · 28/04/2007 01:12

bloomin' 'eck woman, you also have 2 kids! i just read your profile! chill!

fannyannie · 28/04/2007 01:18

MadeForIt - yes they do - DH gets on average 5-10 'sales' (ie people agreeing to get their TV licence there and then) a day - more people than that let him in - but then lead him a merry dance.

He comes back with all sorts of things - lots of Polish Vodka, South African Biltong, and he's often given cups of coffee and they let him use the loo .

And besides - you can't avoid them - they have a database of every single address in the country (even new builds that are only 'on plan' but have been allocated numbers and postcodes) and the computer tells them which ones don't have licences, which haven't renewed, dealership (ie if you've bought a new TV) notices etc etc. If you don't let them in eventually you end up in court with a £1000 fine .

MT - I know but he also goes to some really manky houses............lets just say he has a pack of anti-bacterial wipes in the car to wipe his folder/pen/hands down after visitng some addresses............and he first thing he does when he gets home is gets changed and puts his work clothes staight in the wash LOL.

And also thinks she really should be going to bed...........

MadeForIt · 28/04/2007 01:50

theyre those perfect women who live to please their DH!!!

fannyannie · 28/04/2007 01:55

oh blimey - I'm not one of them - just for some bizarre reason I thought the dinner wasn't 'good enough'

If I was one of them there wouldn't be a black bin bag behind me that's nearly full, with crisp, milkshake and other junk food packets from the study.........that I tidied up in ONE GO tonight........there was that many (mostly shoved into smaller plastic bags to give them a resemblance of 'tidyness' I needed the black bag to clean them all up

LOL FA!!! You are bringing all those pg memories back to me tonight!!!

Youre doing a great job! I think id be all over the place to be honest!

RGPargy · 28/04/2007 08:44

In our house, we are GRATEFUL to receive out of the box dinners lol!!!

Nah seriously tho, i hope you are feeling better today about your "inadequate" dinner. I'm sure your DH was just grateful for a loving wife and a hot meal, eh?

ShowOfHands · 28/04/2007 09:05

Sounds entirely rational to me. Look, I cried the other night because on driving home we saw a rabbit in a field. This fact alone was not the source of my unhappiness. It was indeed imagaining what would happen if said bunny hopped out of the field, into the road and under a tyre. Ordinary me would not have such thoughts nor be tormented by them, pregnant me sobbed for at least half an hour.

We live in a very rural area, DH now won't allow me in the car incase I spot any roadkill and it tips me over the edge.

I'm desperately hoping it's the 37 weeks pregnant status and not any permanent madness.

fannyannie · 28/04/2007 09:16

well despite not getting much sleep I'm feeling fine this morning. Told DH that I'd been crying and he looked at me like I'd gone mad and said

"Look it was food.......maybe a slightly unusual combination but still food and still very nice".

He's getting pork stirfry (ok yes it's packet of stirfry vegetables rather than chopping it all upmyself but its still 'fresh' vegetables') for dinner tonight so there'll be no guilty feelings this evening (hopefully LOL).

I cry when I hear certain songs, particularly Dolly Parton's 'Jolene'.
I also cry when I watch the news (at both good news & bad news).
I bought a book about Active Birth today, and started crying reading it.
I was thinking about John Lennon earlier (God knows why) and started getting teary.
I think I'm going mad

MrsMar · 28/04/2007 17:26

sympathies FA, you poor thing! I've been very fortunate to avoid too many hormonal ups and downs, but I'm normally very much in to cooking food from scratch and eating healthily. Since becoming pregnant I've been so tired I haven't been @rsed to be honest, there's been a lot of food out of packets served in our house, but my DH loves it!!! He likes homemade food, but being a bloke he loves junk even more. I can't give him enough pizzas or cheap rubbish! Oh dear!

Ludiloops · 10/05/2007 14:32

Pregnancy hormones are getting the better of me also. Last night I cried because I could not finish my dinner! Started to worry that the baby would not be getting enough food from me! It was only 1 meal, but last night it was the end of the world!!
