16 weeks - very bad hip/lower back/bum pain

I remember from my first pregnancy that in the last few weeks I’d get quite bad aching pains in my lower back and in my hips so would have to turn over all night in bed as the ache on one side would get so bad. This time round I’m already in a lot of pain in the area of my hips/buttocks/lower back/outer thighs. It’s a deep pain that feels like I’m the day after a brutal work out and I almost feel bruised. I have been practically hobbling around today with the pain and paracetamol won’t touch it. I have a comfy memory foam mattress but lying on my sides at night still causes this bad hip pain. It wakes me up. A hot bath slightly helps for a little bit.

Is this normal pain that will go away somewhat when things have “settled” eg relaxin hormone making everything stretch funny. Or will this stay and get worsens the pregnancy goes on?! I’m not even halfway through! Or does it sound like anything in particular I could try and alleviate? I have to try to be relatively active as I have a 3 year old and can’t rest up much. I know that a certain amount of pain is the norm when pregnant but this feels excessive considering I’m only 16 weeks.

Hiya

For the last couple of weeks I wake up with a deep burning feeling in my hip and I have no option but to stretch out and roll on other side several times a night. I'm only 11+1 but damn!!

I did have SPD when I was pregnant before bit nothing like that - carpal was my pain last time.

Deep heat pillow works for me but 90% of time I just wiggle toes and stretch out.

Lots of relaxin I think. I saw a chiropractor all the way through my pregnancy and it really helped, especially early. Worth looking into? I don't think SPD hits until much later but it could be the hormones whacking your pelvis out of line which is having a knock on effect?
