It's considered a uterine tonic. So it is believed it helps to tone the uterus, which makes contractions more effective. It doesn't bring on labour, but in theory, it could make labour shorter and more efficient, if that makes sense. I drank it with my first and took capsules and I had a straightforward 11 hour labour, but who knows if it helped?

When do you take it from. I'm. 34 weeks.

i think from 35 weeks iirc.

I drank it from 35 weeks and had a quick and very straight forward 3h birth with DC2. no idea if it was the tea or not. and I found it really tasty too

I found this which I found quite useful www.boltonft.nhs.uk/services/maternity/information/complementary-therapies/raspberry-leaf-tea/

OP it is raspberry leaf not raspberry and afaik the most effective form to take it in is capsules. You can get these from Holland and Barrett.

I took them religiously in last weeks of pregnancy and hypnobirthed. Straightforward labour of 75 mins! Probably largely genetics but it didn't seem to hurt.

Be careful because (unless there's a medical thing you aren't telling us) you don't want your womb to start contracting at 34 weeks!

Alwaysconfused2018 · 21/01/2018 20:43

I won't take them now. Was thinking from maybe 35/36 weeks. X
