Is it too early to monitor movements?

I'm 21 weeks 5 days and have been feeling baby move since 17 weeks. She is so much more active than my first baby was and I'm always saying how I feel her alot more than my little boy. I have an anterior placenta which I know can block some movement.
Since last night I haven't felt her, I'm thinking she has loads of room to move about so I'm not too worried is she may just be wriggling where I can't feel her but when is it that you should start to monitor babys movements?

I could be wrong as this is my first baby but I have been told to start monitoring movement from around 24 - 28 weeks, there should be a pattern then after 28 weeks if you feel reduced movement then to ring the hospital. I could be wrong through, hopefully someone else will come along with more advice. I didn't feel my baby move for majority of the day around 22 weeks and started to worry but everyone said he has lots of room still, so not to worry. I still feel him everyday (currently 24+5) more some days then others, I haven't really noticed a pattern. I also have an anterior placenta xx

Advice in my area is28 weeks.

It is normally around 24 weeks. However if it's out of the ordinary for you then call the hospital. Re-assurance for you is worth so much more than a day and nights worry.
If I were in your shoes I would call up x

I had this a few weeks ago, I'm 25 weeks now. I left it the day as had midwife the next day and she said I should definitely call if concerned in future. You may not have regular patterns but if you've been having movements every day and now none I'd call them Flowers

I had similar happen in my first pregnancy. Baby was in a real routine and I always felt movements in bed at night. They stopped, and I phoned the hospital (22ish weeks) and they did a Doppler for reassurance. All was fine, I actually felt him start moving again in the waiting room!
they were very kind even though it was before the normal ‘count the kicks’ time. I’d call if you’re worried x

Thankyou for the advice. She usually has a really good wriggle after I've had a bath so I'll have one soon and see how things are.
I'm not even sure who I could ring as the antenatal unit doesn't see you untill you're 28 weeks and the early pregnancy unit is closed till the morning.

I’m also 21+5 with an anterior placenta. I get some days where I feel lots of movement, usually during the evening when I’m laying back or on my side.
I have also had a few days where I’ve felt nothing. It does concern me but I know that it’s completely normal.
I’m going to check with my mw at next appt when I’m supposed to start monitoring but I believe it’s 26 weeks ish here. I’m just trying to enjoy not having the pressure and worry of monitoring at the moment Smile

I had the same thing when I was about 21 weeks and my little boy was moving from 18 weeks and suddenly overnight he stopped and I didn’t feel him for about three days and I was worried if I phoned the hospital they would tell me it was nothing as I was still only 21 weeks so I rang my MW who was amazing and she got me straight in with her the same day and let me listen in to him on her Doppler and I felt so much happier! She said it doesn’t matter the week if you feel movements, the MW’s will always give you reassurance! I’d try that if you haven’t already done something!
