Ingested Hair Product

I am hopefully overthinking this.

I was putting Argan oil leave in defence spray in my hair but took a really deep breath of a heavy mist of the stuff. So much so that I could really taste it.

I had a look at the ingredients and the main one is Amodemethicone, which on googling said can affect human hormone function and interfere with reproductive systems.

I realise I am probably being OTT/OCD with this but if anyone can reassure me or just tell me I’m being stupid it would be much appreciated.

The amount you've ingested will be tiny, I wouldn't worry.

I really shouldn’t look up these ingredients online, most of them are saying avoid. I would say I definitely inhaled a good few sprays but probably no more than a couple ml

If breathing it in during use (which must be soooo common, almost inevitable) affected hormones and reproductive systems, they wouldn’t be allowed to sell it surely.

The amount you ingested will be tiny and the amount of the ingredient in the spray will be tiny, it’ll be mostly water. The literal point of your body right now is to protect the baby, your body will filter out anything nasty just way it does with car fumes in the air etc. It will be okay.

All beauty products are subject to rigorous tests and trials before being approved for sale. That would include the possibility of breathing in small quantities of a spray. Your hair product would not be on the market if it was in anyway hazardous to pregnant women.

Any treatments that might pose even a small risk would be sold over the counter only and come with health warnings, or be prescription only.

Try to relax. Anxiety and stress are far more detrimental to your health.

Thank you for the reassurance Smile I was using it because argan oil is safe and supposed to be so good. It was only looking at the ingredients I was like... oh dear
