I did just accidentally post this under someone else's thread😩 But I'm just under two months pregnant and have had severe sickness for just over 3 weeks where it was impossible for me to keep food or drink down. Thought this was normal and I'm only 18 and it's my first time being pregnant. I went to the hospital for my scan and told them what had been happening and they immediately told me they'd have to keep me in for a few days and gave me fluids through a drip and lots of antisickness medications also through a drip. I've been home for a few days and have been taking the anti sickness tablets they gave me but have still been feeling very naseau. Woke up at 4am this morning and couldn't stop gagging it was so painful on my stomach and nothing was coming up. Went back to sleep until 8 and took a tablet around 9 but just threw up my breakfast. Is this supposed to happen? I thought the tablets would prevent this and I don't know whether to be worried or not? Please help😩

Antisickness meds aren’t 100% and it often takes trying a few different medications and combinations before you find one that works properly for you. If you’re still not keeping fluids down you need to seek medical help. Out of hours GP or 111 would probably be the best place to start (make sure if you speak to someone at 111 they know it is pregnancy related and not a bug). You could also try phoning the ward you were admitted to for advice.

The Hyperemesis Support thread contains loads of useful information and everyone is really lovely.

I have found this website really helpful too: www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
