I am feeling SO stupid and panicky right now. I am 39 and 4 months, no kids, had a MMC at 9.5 weeks end August and will be 5 weeks with a new pregnancy tomorrow (hopefully!).

I buy a particular brand of coffee and their decaf is in a blue container. I have been chugging down (fridays and weekends 5-6 cups a day sometimes) what I thought was decaf but OH has just noticed it isn't decaf and that I must've picked up the wrong one!!!!!

I am clearly stopping now but am terrified I may have caused this one to miscarry. I can't face another miscarriage, and not at my age. As it is, my EDD with this pregnancy is 3 days after my 40th birthday.

Has anyone else drunk lots of caffeine early on and been ok?

I am so annoyed with myself right now.

awwww really dont worry!! I didnt find out i was pregnant until quite far on with my first and I was doing the whole lot... raw fish, soft cheese, beer, coffee..... early on these things dont actually get into baby. They slightly increase your risk of early miscarriage but thats only very very slight. Most miscarriages are caused by physical problems with mum or developmental probs with the fetus not by external stuff, and cant be prevented. Try not to worry, you are safely allowed a certain amount of caffiene in a day as well anyway so you cant have been that much above that. Flowers

My mum drank coffee and smoked all the way through her pregnancy with me and I turned out fine! Grin

I'm pregnant myself now, after two miscarriages, so I totally understand how stressful it is. Wishing you a lovely healthy pregnancy - it will all be worth it! SmileFlowers

Don't beat yourself up about worrying. I panicked my way through the full 9 months.

Both times.

I was pretty chilled when they arrived though.

Please don't worry Flowers at five weeks on last pregnancy and this one I didn't even know I was pregnant and still drinking wine and about three cups of coffee a day.
I drank one cup of coffee right through my first pregnancy and have gone off it this time but my first trimester was spent drinking coke and lucozade as I was so sick!
Hope all goes well for youFlowers

Good luck with your pregnancy. And be kind to yourself.

No-one gets it all perfect and babies are okay xx

OHs apartment has a Starbucks on the docks outside and I practically lived off that in early pregnancy tbh. Also had a thing for Nero in both my other pregnancies. It’s fine! My babies are perfectly healthy and smart as buttons

I've had 1-2 cups a day for all of both of my pregnancies. I'm 36 weeks with #2 now. Both healthy, straightforward, low risk pregnancies. There is really no risk from caffeine until you start drinking about 5-9 cups a day, so I think you'll be fine. Enjoy your coffee!
