Anyone had/have higher levels of amniotic fluid?

I had a scan yesterday due to reduced movements, everything looked perfect apart from my levels of higher fluid. I've heard of low lever but never higher.
I'm trying to stay away from Google.

Yes, I did. It can be a sign of gestational diabetes, have they checked for that?

Didn’t harm the baby at all, just meant my bump was even bigger and heavier than it would have been.

Yes it was called polyhydramnios due to gestational diabetes. Resolved itself by 35 weeks I think.

Cosmicbird · 19/01/2018 13:59

Yes I did on 2 pregnancies. All was fine. Some concerns closer to term about cord prolapse so I was advised not to delay coming into hospital if labour started. As it turned out I was induced both times anyway. Babies totally fine both times.

Yes I did, was tested for gestational diabetes but there was no signs. Had extra detailed scan to check for cleft palette as can be an indicator of swallowing problem in baby but dd was clear.
When my waters went it was spectacular (in the hall at home) so would protect your mattress.
Dd has autism and it can be a marker for neurological disabilities but ds has autism as well and I didn't have extra water with him so not sure it was the cause with dd. I did have a double amniotic sac apparently so wondered whether that had something to do with it.

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, I got tested for diabetes sometime in my 20th something weeks and all was fine then. The hospital did say it could be diabetes so I have to go back in to check. It's just so worrying really. I've had a blood test to check for infections also. My levels are at 11cm, there supposed to be around 7cm I think? So there's not tons more but more than the hospital would like??

My last scan said 10cm and I was told that that was good. That was at 28 and half weeks..

AnxietyForever · 19/01/2018 15:24

Thanks smurf, I think the levels are suppose to be lower at around 37 weeks..

I had polyhidramnios also. It was a massive relief when they broke my waters.

Physically healthy but along with a pp he has autism.

Sometimes it's just one of those things though so o probably wouldn't get too concerned.

Hi OP, I'm just going through this myself at the moment. Baby is measuring on the larger side so it's being put down to that at the moment (passed the GD test). Do you know by how much? X

Starlive22 · 19/01/2018 16:37

Sorry yes saw your other post, yours is mild too like mine.

Stay away from google. I made that bloody mistake xx

AnxietyForever · 19/01/2018 17:31

What's your levels at star? Google is very scary at the moment

I was just induced for polyhydramnios a week ago. Acute polyhydramnios, developed between 37-39weeks. Likely caused by late onset of diabetes. I had 25cm of water, completely off the scale. I must have drained at least 2000ml after breaking my waters 🤨

Starlive22 · 19/01/2018 19:53

I think mine is 10 when it should be 8 but I'm only 30 weeks, and baby is quite big around the tummy. I'm measuring with the tape measure about 3-4 weeks ahead. Going back on 30th for another growth scan x
