3 weeks pregnant and bleeding just like a period

Hi All

I have just found out I am pregnant and the clear blue stick says 2-3 weeks. I know this is extremely early and I haven't even missed a period yet. I did a test because I randomly vomited one morning and put two and two together.

The day after I tested positive I started blended just like a period and I haven't stopped bleeding since. (2 days now) I don't have any pain with it though.

I went to my GP who says it doesn't sound like an ectopic pregnancy which is good and referred me to the early pregnancy ward at the hospital. She said I should expect a call from them but didn't. Now I have to wait all weekend as that department is shut until Monday.

Is this normal or do you think I am having a miscarriage?

With your levels going up and no sign of pregnancy they may be testing for a molar pregnancy. I had bleeding at 8 weeks and it turned out to be a complete molar pregnancy. Hopefully it won't be that, but the best case scenario (which happened to me) is a D&C and 6 months of monthly blood tests. No TTC for 6 months. I also had to have 6 months of testing and no TTC after any future pregnancy or miscarriage. I did go on to have a missed miscarriage and then finally had my 3rd child.

It's ectopic.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you're ok.

So had the ectopic removed yesterday and they had to remove my right Fallopian tube. They said my other tube was very healthy and I can TTC again after my next period.

Can't believe this all happened. If I hadn't have done the very early pregnancy test I would never have known I had the ectopic and would have assumed that bleed was my period.

On the mend now and looking forward to trying again

Sorry to hear you e had a rough time. Hope you're feeling ok. Rest and take it easy. It's good they caught it early. My mum had a rupture & almost died but when on to have more babies.
