After some rubbish midwife appointments and having a huge hormonal breakdown as it took 45 minutes to park (What if this happens when I'm in Labour?!) .. I'm feeling a bit disenamoured by Kingston. Was wondering if anyone had any good/bad recent experience there or close by?

I’m having mine at Kingston and completely agree re parking! My advice (although you shouldn’t have to) is to park round the corner at Norbiton station.

I’m sorry you’ve had a rubbish experience with the midwives, I’ve found them all to be lovely (so far!!) what happened??

I had my first at Kingston and was very happy there. I'm having my second one there too (mainly to avoid ending up at St Heliers.

If you are in labor, you can always be dropped off at the entrance of the maternity section and then your partner can then find a car parking space.

Thank you. Suspect I'm just being hormonal.

Seen a midwife twice, different each time. Second one kept saying incorrect info like "you don't have gestational diabetes" and I had to correct her.. didn't fill me with confidence. She also gave me what the diabetes dietician called "dangerous" diet advice.

Parking was the worst ever today- I even went to Norbiton station and apparently you can't park there until after 9:30 so I ended up crying at the miserable station lady too! Ah well!

I know I can get dropped off but I'll be peed off if my OH leaves me for an hour whilst he's trying to park!

There's street parking all around the hospital which is more expensive but you can update from your phone and move the car when car park is quieter?

Lulu2515 · 11/01/2018 19:48

Thank you extension, I could only see permit parking today on the road... I might try and have a scope around when it's quiet.

The parking at Kingston is the main reason I chose West Mid!

I’ve been to the hospital a few times lately for different reasons. The midwives at the Day Assessment Unit have been fab, so reassuring after a GP got me a bit freaked out over my fundal height measurement! Hopefully you’ll get better care next time.

I’ve found after 4pm is good for parking and Saturday late morning was great too! So we just need to time it right Wink Seriously though, when you go into labour and you have a parking space, you can get a voucher for heavily discounted parking so don’t forget to take them up on it!

What Kingston are good at though is booking you in for appointments and scans at the exact gestation. I have a few pregnant friends in different NHS trusts and that is not their experience. The comprehensive notes and information are also very good. They hold free antenatal workshops and breastfeeding workshops too. And I got a free yoga session last weekend!

I went there today, you're right the parking is crazy! I was allowed to park over the m/c bit.

The thing that confused me was the payment... didnt have the correct change and was told I could pay on exit - so I did that on my phone via the app and it started countdown from when I paid rather than how long I wanted to pay from when I actually got there... worried about a fine now Confused
