Bad cold - what can I take?!

Am 15 weeks with DC2 and have an awful cold, splitting headache and sore-ish throat. Other than paracetamol, does anyone have any wonder cures? I'm looking longingly at my Beechams All in One 😫.

Nothing that works sadly.

Hot water and lemon with ginger
Jakeman lozenges
Calpol 6+ if problems swallowing
Olbas Oil on Hanky and pillow
Steam works great
Diflam spray (check with chemist!)
Low noise and light (I have a toddler so not easy I know)
Cool wrap for eyes and forehead
Avoid caffeine as it's a stimulant and can worsen the headache
Chicken soup - yes yes it really is like penicillin when made right!
Have a bit of dark 70% chocolate- my neurologist told me that one (I have IIH so headaches are bad)

Vitamin C is good so orange juice or warm orange squash to keep hydrated.

In the same boat ☺

Ok I've just been in the same boat, mine started off as a sore throat. Doctor said I could take codine, paracetamol, I used nasal spray because I also had a sinus infection they said because of the circumstance that was fine.... then last night I was admitted to hosp with quinsy because the doctors are so scared to give out antibiotics! Keep an eye on your symptoms! I feel for you because it's awful! Another things I did when I was self medicating with steaming my face, also making a saline rinse for my nose helped a lot too! Get wel soon xxxxxxx
